Anyone EcuTek tuned their ’25+ Z?

just found out my ‘25 Z‘s OBD port maybe blocked for re-flashing the ECU.

Good news there are solutions to bypass the ODB port.

one option is to install a 2nd ODB port using a bypass harness. Only question i have about the harness is after the initial programming, will the ecutek BT dongle work in the factory ODB port?

Racebox notes that they will refund the cost of the harness if you return it. leaving me to believed that the factory OBD port will communicate with the ecutek BT dongle after the initial programming.

interesting is this required for all ecu tuning?
like kracka said 2025+

Per Z1, some ‘25 cars maybe programmable as normal but they have not been able to determine which ones. If this is true, maybe it’s due to using ‘24 ecu inventory on early ‘25 production? Mine was built in November so maybe it has a chance..

Z1 and EcuTek are aware of an issue related to tuning 2025 year models. It is possible that some 2025s may require tuning to be completed on-site however, it is unknown how this can be identified on a car-by-car basis at this time. EcuTek is actively working on a solution.

Best guess - to reduce liability risk.

It's a security thing to reduce hacking & theft. The JL Wrangler requires a similar security gateway bypass.

This makes sense as the Nissan Consult-III service center firmware was leaked years ago and ported to low cost OBD HW that anyone can obtain online. Smash the sunroof, plug in the dongle, run the "Lost Keys" function and away you go. This is why so many Z/Q/Gs get stolen. The irony is that Ecutek can be used to encrypt the ECU image and provide a fuel cut. With the OBD blocked, no longer possible. I'm guessing that there are similar issues with other brands.
