This is precisely why I stated previously that “need” in this realm is subjective. To me, the need for a better set of dampers was obvious and absolute. People get stuck on the springs and spring rates. Though they are absolutely of importance and can make a difference, the dampers are where the magic is. All coilovers are not created equal by far. On top of that, there is always give and take with every change that’s made.
I definitely feel the OEM dampers on my Performance, even w the relatively soft Swifts, do not keep up well, comfortable on smooth roads but a bit bouncy on the rougher stuff. Better dampers will definitely help. Wonder if the Nismo dampers will be direct fitment.

If the Swift springs will work on a Nismo or Performance, then the Nismo shocks should be a direct swap.

I wonder what difference in damping would be between the two shocks, interesting to know.

I’m sure it’s a pretty decent difference but the price of the stock Nismo shocks pushed me toward coilovers. Especially since I was wanting higher spring rates as well. Annex basis the spring rate off of desired suspension frequency rather than just the rates themselves. If you read up on suspension frequency in Hz there is a lot to be learned. I chose a pretty firm setup just shy of full Motorsport Hz. I’m sitting at roughly 2.4 Hz rear and 2.2 up front. With the rear being close to a 10% stiffer frequency, I’m setup for “flat ride” or “quick settling” at around 70 mph. This helps keep the chassis settled and stops any “pogo” effect over bumps and whatnot.

Finally got the Nismo coil overs installed and the alignment below:

The ride quality is great. Somehow is firm and less bouncy but still comfortable as can be.

Nice! Glad to hear you are happy with your decision and that your alignment has been nailed down! Congrats!

Sadly while the front drop was about an inch the rear wouldn't adjust down much. It was 3/4 on just lowering springs but we couldn't get the rear down much. Hoping the springs settle.
