My background.

I'm a former Mustang enthusiast. I've had 8 of them, 3 were coyotes. The Z took me away from all that and I couldn't be happier. I'm a Texas transplant for about 20 years now. All I could afford was the Sport trim until I found a Performance leftover 2024 that sat in Texarkana for a year. MSRP was $55,320. They were desperate to get it off their lot and I got the car for around $47,000 + TTL.

Equity and money down, I financed around $29,000. Tier 1 credit got me APR 5.99 which is bullshit in today's market. My payment is $486 for 72 months.

What are your numbers?

I'm Ron Burgundy???

2024 Performance Trim. Everest white
Got my 2024 Performance in November 2023. The hardest part then was finding a white one at MSRP. They had them jacked up between 5/7K. Finally found one out of state. I gave them a grand to lock me in on the price until I could get there. They had it in the showroom. I asked the manager to send me a picture of the mileage and to lock the car and keep the keys in his office. Speaking of financing, like most stealerships the finance guy with the big smile and forked tongue couldn't wait to talk to me. I presented the agreed selling price with the Manager's signature on it. You should have seen his face when I pulled out (with all due modesty) 54K and change in cash. Having Been in Aviation for 20+ years, I don't have a problem with flying I just prefer the road and a good GT car. In comparison to other cars I've leased or owned the Z punches above its weight class. I'm at around 35K with no issues to report other than working on my 3rd set of tires with brake pads not too far off.

24 Nismo out the door 63k. Financed about 23k which put me at $460 a month on 60 month term. I opened a "car" savings account and put a down payment in it of a couple grand. I paid a $500 month payment and at minimum, matched the payment into the car account. When balance in account was about same as payoff amount, I cleared the loan. Loan disappeared in about 10 months.

I paid just below MSRP ($51k ish)for my 24' Rosewood Perf in March of 2024. Happy two year birthday to my Z!

With trade in, 72mo loan because I was not in a rush to pay it off I think payments were around $400. Then I got sick to my stomach looking st how much interest I would be paying of I just made payments - my credit score is over 800 no reason interest should be that high. So I just saved up a bit more and paid it off a few months ago when I was comfortable to do so.

I paid $44300 OTD (the joy of living in Calif) for a 2025 Sport last July. Put 6K down, $650 a month. Will pay it off this year. Rate is 4.5%

I was taught growing up to never borrow for a car. I'm 67, had probably over a dozen cars and always paid cash. Great advice.
Lots of people with big money on here and I figured as much.

That's great advice but typically almost no one can pay cash for a car. I found your comment pretty worthless.

Props to people who live life and spend their money how they want to. For some people their passion and hobbies are easy to afford. For others, they work their butt off and probably appreciate what they do have a little bit more.

How did you work out the taxes?
I purchased a yellow sport in Phoenix but had to cancel it because they told me I had to pay the taxes for AZ and then I would have to pay the same for Fl.
It was a good thing because I ended up getting a better deal here in Tampa for a Performance.

You pay your state taxes only. All you do is fill some paperwork stating your are not an AZ resident.

That's what I argued with the dealer but... no... they insisted... so the deal was off.
