Keep in mind that the purpose of the bypass is to prevent filter sludge from starving oil flow. Decent quality oil & reasonable change intervals produce almost no sludge, even in short trip cold engine driving.
There are 2 groups of vehicle ownersI don’t understand why a person would think an OEM filter couldn’t take whatever the pump can do. Kinda funny tampering with stuff like this and no clue what’s going on or will happen.
https://rycofilters.com.au/part/z547stIs the filter with the "E" designator a longer filter? I'm asking because that's the only reason I can think of that would allow more flow for the heavier weight oil.
Me2!
This is reasonable, stock Zs should be fine even with 5w30 in most situations. I will monitor when visiting the track next year, may go with the GTR filter if needed. If the engine is not pushed at constant high rpms, I wouldn't worry about modifying or removing the bypass valve.Stock should be fine, or use the GTR filter if you're worried(they run ~ 80pis stock). You haven't increased the max oil pressure at all(~57 psi) so unless the stock filter was bypassing almost all the time on power you're fine.
The bypass valve in the filter operates of the pressure differential. Your higher oil pressure at low rpm/load shouldn't effect anything except gas mileage.
I think the GTR filter is a the way to go especially if tuned and tracking. But that's just my 5 cents. I was very happy with the T&P’s after a heavy track session running a 5w40.This is reasonable, stock Zs should be fine even with 5w30 in most situations. Yep 5w40 is what I normally use out here in hot west coast tracks, extra insurance.I think the GTR filter is a the way to go especially if tuned and tracking. But that's just my 5 cents. I was very happy with the T&P’s after a heavy track session running a 5w40.

0w is going to be thinner on cold starts compared to 5w. 0w is for people who live in the North where it can see freezing temps.Would running 0w30 cause any issues? I'm thinking about using that next oil change.
What caveats would there be in running constant high oil pressure with the solenoid deleted?0w is going to be thinner on cold starts compared to 5w. 0w is for people who live in the North where it can see freezing temps.
Shouldnt be any issues running that oil viscosity

Is deleting the solenoid easy for a novice DIYer or should I take it to a specialty shop?https://www.sonictuned.com/post/vr30-engine-failures-without-warning
It's better to have the delete done, few articles around.. More preventive maintenance
Jack stands will do, just tight to get into. Hoist would be much easier. You will get a soft code that will need to be tuned out.Is deleting the solenoid easy for a novice DIYer or should I take it to a specialty shop?
