assuming you're talking about noise levels, going on almost a year now with the ams full downpipes and have had 0 issues. cops don't really seem to care here as long as you don't force them to (at least in the sj area). valves are also an option if you're overly concerned, but they're also not cheap 😂
I was thinking about going full AMS full downpipes. Do you have any sound clips?

I was told by a well known tuner in FL who knows a lot about our VR30 engines. He is being dealing with Infinity's and Nissan's all his life, he told me not to get full downpipes because it will eventually damage your turbos and it could take weeks, months and even years before you start seeing the symptoms. It is just a ticking bomb so he suggested me to go with the lower dp's because it is safer, and the gain isn't worth the risk.

i do, but they're not the greatest. these are with the 2.25 nismo exhaust, swapping it out for a proper one soon. ignore the toes 😊

also forgot to mention they are the catted ones.

Nice! I think it sounds great. It comes with a 2.5" adapter right? My aftermarket exhaust is only 2.5" tubing and want to make sure I don't need to do anything extra to have it fit.

In NJ so there are definitely laws about things that wont pass inspections.

But outside of inspections it never comes up. You arent gonna get under hood cop checks or anything like that.

And even the inspections are usually basic enough that as long as you arent throwing codes and can pass the sniff test you're all good.

Might need to cross over to Delaware to sell your car though if you aren't selling private.

When I had to ‘Star Smog’ my 370Z Nismo in CA- they always looked for illegal exhausts, intakes etc. I went through this about every other year for 8 years. You need the CARB legal stickers for every mod. So you don’t even have to be pulled over, you just won’t be able to get a license plate tag until:
a) You remove all the mods and go back to test again (means paying again & it’s a PITA with physical mods like exhaust).
b) Find a Smog tester that won’t look so closely. GL with that - the one I knew of lost their Star certification for a year.
c) Buy CARB legal mods only, which is what they want you to do

edit: When I swapped to the 2025 Z, I won’t have to smog it for 4yrs at least. Yay!

Saw this for California law:

"Starting January 1, 2019, if your vehicle is less than 4 model years old, you can pay a smog abatement fee instead of getting a smog inspection for the first 8 years that your vehicle is registered."

That is pretty nice to not need to worry about removing mods on the car for a renewal for a pretty long period.
