It’s done.

Ryan was the director’s name. These guys rock. The car sounds much better and i can shift much better now that i can hear the exhaust. My a/t muffler delete setup sounds much better.

the service tech (sen) tried using a newer software different than consult iii plus - it would not connect.

then he fired up the consult software - took a few minutes to connect, after that it took him maybe another couple of minutes to find the ASC feature and turn if off.

The tech was cool. - asked if i wanted anything else changed. I said, joking can you bump the boost to 20psi. He laughed and said he would be a rich man if he could.

i‘m not sure who thought ASE was a good idea to waste development time on. They could have better spent that time on a 480hp setup.

Hell yeah! Awesome! I am glad they got it taken care of you. They seem like good people. Did you mention that you heard good things from the forums? Or that there was a guy on here having AV problems and they took care of me? I'm glad they are solid and my experience wasn't a one-off.

Congrats, happy for you!

I might have to make a trip into El Paso and check a few dealers there to disable the ASC. This sh*thole town only has one dealer and they want the $198 diagnostic fee.
I am happy for @thesilverbullet that you got it fixed. I am still considering getting the vxdiag for myself, so I never have to deal with an idiot at the dealership. ... under $200 ... yeah, worth the price to me.

Mind telling if where this dealership is? Might be roadtrip time!

Lol - I think it would be much cheaper to pay a local dealer vs driving from KS to SC and back.

Maybe cheaper, but...road trip!
lol … yes! These days it’s all about a roadtrip! But … after talking to my dealership a bit more … they figured out how to do it … and turned it off for me for no charge!

ASE cancellation completed.

Got it done for free, I went in going for a radio issue with wireless car play lagging that kept dropping randomly. I’m still at a loss with the radio because they couldn’t replicate the problem but I’ll just drive around with a go pro Mounted somewhere in the vehicle so they can see it. Note to everyone, radio issues like randomly shutting off, need video proof so Nissan can approve it. This whole process took three weeks. The same radio component on my r53 pathfinder had the same problem and they swapped out in a day, don’t know why it took them three weeks for the dealer to tell me nothing was wrong. I couldn’t care since it was free.

All that aside they managed to disable the ASE, the difference is night and day, IMHO, i can finally hear the bass. Maybe when I get my cats installed I’ll disable ANC, but for the time being I’m just cruising.

Thanks to @wsuZ's post. I've got Consult up and running (for a limited time), and I was finally able to run some tests that I'd been wanting to try since I found out you could enable/disable ANC/ASE via Consult: to try all four combos. Well, I almost did. Also, the results are kinda underwhelming.

ANCASENotes
ononFactory setting. Fake engine noises in cabin. Supposed noise cancelation.
onoffTried this. Couldn't tell the difference between this and the last row.
offonDidn't try this since I don't like ASE. I'd never run in this mode.
offoffWent back to this. I'm unable to tell the difference between this an ANC=on / ASE=off.

As far as I can tell ANC does nothing. But this is probably because the car is just a noisy car and my hearing isn't that great to begin with.

With ASE, the car definitely pipes in fake noise. Under acceleration around 3500 rpm, you get some growly sounds. And then with SRM downshifts, a similar growl when you downshift. Cruising: I don't notice any ASE effects.

Do you have an aftermarket exhaust or stock still? I'm planning to visit my dealer, friend partly owned, to do option 2 - ASE Off ANC On - with my catback, see what difference that produces.

My car is stock.

Yeah, I wish it was easy to change these without having to use Consult.

I drive the manual, and to be honest I hear the engine better, before it sounded muted now I can hear it enough for me to know when to upshift if that makes sense.
