I've been obsessed with cars since a very young age and love learning about a particular model or version of a car that I never knew existed. I'm starting this thread so that we can share rare, limited, or special models with one another and hopefully learn something new along the way. Provide some pictures and a brief description on what makes the car unique.

To kick it off, I want to share one of my favorite cars of all time. While 3,500 599 GTB's were produced from 2006-2012, only 30 were made with a manual gearbox of which 20 were sent to the United States and 10 remained in Europe. Producing 612 hp from its front engine V12, it was the most powerful series production Ferrari road car at the time of its introduction. It is capable of reaching 62 mph in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph. Sadly, it would be the final V12-engined Ferrari to be equipped with a manual transmission. With a base price of nearly $274,000 in 2007, a 6MT 599 GTB sold at auction in 2015 for $682,000.

that 599 is pretty sweet...i was unaware of it's existence. thanks for sharing.

my favorite car is the mkiv supra and while they are fairly rare to begin with i recently found out that there are 20 built in 1992.

the mkiv is usually refered to in the usa as being built 1993.5 to 98. in japan it ended in 2002. if you owned a 92, it's assumed you had a mklll. recently one of these popped up somewhere and that's when it became known that they were built because of the vin. id love to find one of these.

my first supra purchased back in 2009 was a 93 jdm and yes it was rhd and manual, hence my screen name. it was one of first few in the u.s. at the time. my current mkiv is a 95, but it's usdm.

i've also owned an 88 turbo 7mgte which i'm trying to get back...it's been sitting in a field with a blown motor for a year or two.

As an ex-2.5RS GM owner, this car would be near the top of my list for JDM cars to own. Produced between March and August 1998 by Subaru of Japan, the widebody 22B STi was used to commemorate their 40th anniversary as well as the third consecutive manufacturer's title for Subaru in the FIA World Rally Championship. A total of 424 cars were built, 400 for Japan, 16 for the UK, 5 for Australia and 3 prototypes. The 22B uses the EJ22G, a 2.2 L closed deck engine based on the EJ20K STI engine, making 276 hp and 268 lb-ft. A 22B sold for $312,555 in April of this year. The original MSRP was $41,600.

Glad that you now know of the 599. Oddly enough, I found this C&D article on the 599 from 2006 titled, "No, this is not the new Toyota Supra" ?

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a15151439/no-this-is-not-the-new-toyota-supra-car-news/

That's interesting about the Mk4. So is it considered a '92 model year, or a '93 but built in '92? What made you sell your JDM model for the newer '95?

One of my favorites is actually very recent. The Alpha Romeo GTAm.
Only 500 made, it has an extra 30 horsepower than the quadrofoglio, it shaved 220lbs off, and has only 2 seats because they replaced the back seats with a roll cage, fire extinguisher and helmet rack. Besides also changing the suspension, track width, single lug wheels, and carbon fiber everything, When you buy one you get a custom helmet, an alpinestars racing suit and a custom driving course by alpha.

The look is just so cool to me, the perfect blend of elegance and aggression.

I love this car and couldn't agree with you more on the styling. This thing is both beauty and beast. It even manages to make me want it in red ?

Depends what you call rare. I’m rather fond of my current Peugeot RCZ Type R…only 35 came to Australia, And I believe I have the only black one in Western Australia.
But alas the black paint is causing me heartache, and anytime anything goes wrong or needs to be fixed I need to take out a bank loan, because all the parts have to come from France.
When someone ran into the back of me at the traffic lights the damage was very minor….but it took almost two months to get the parts that were needed to fix said minor damage.
It is for these reasons with a heavy heart I will sell it, all proceeds going to the new Z

I don't think I knew what the car was until I saw yours. It's hard to find much information on production numbers, but 305 R's were made for the UK. If they weren't sold anywhere else outside of the UK and Australia, then as few as 340 could exist worldwide. Sounds pretty rare to me!

So this got me really thinking…and hunting. I really wanted to know how many were made.
I found this small quote in an article
“Peugeot Australia locked in an allocation of 35 RCZ Rs for the Australian market, out of a global allocation of 500.”

So it seems there were 500 made globally …not super rare, but still rare…especially as there are reports that around half were written off, which doesn't surprise me, as it’s pretty powerful and a heck of a lot of fun to drive

Mines is more down to earth. I always wanted a 1st gen NSX. I came really close to pulling the trigger on one many times. I really regret not picking one up when they were dirt cheap. :(

I'll forever love the 1st gen NSX as well. In either junior or senior year of high school, a buddy of mine at the time went from driving a Chevy Beretta to a NSX. Talk about a difference from one vehicle to the next. This was around '02-'03 and I believe he paid around $30k for it. You should be able to import a NSX-S Zero starting next year. I'm sure 1 of 30 has your name on it ?? What a beaut...

Made peace with the fact I'll never be able to own the former, but I intend on making the latter reality one day. Even have them in LEGO form (in dire need of upgrading the shelf, as more sets are waiting to be built lol).

Same x 1,000. Closest I got was a bugeye WRX wagon, which to be fair I loved the hell out of. I really wish Subaru would get their act together and make another, it would give my desire for the Z serious run for its money.
