I’ve gotten a lot of little flecks from rocks, do you guys also have this, anything I could do now to lighten the existing ones?

It just seems like every single rock that has hit has made a small pit.
(Window is clean and I put my eyeball up to the marks and they are below surface) I’ve driven taller vehicles with a more straight angle windshield and can count up enough rock hits but never noticing any damage

Chipped windshields are just a fact of life on any car in the age of oversized mall crawlers. I know some detail / ppf shop[s sell a clear windshield ppf as an option, but that can get you into trouble in many states that have statutes that expectedly disallow any treatments to windshields.

Yes I am noticing it as well and I believe it could be because Nissan is using a softer material when making their windshield possibly due to cost. I have several significant chips/nicks and the car doesn’t even have 1000 miles on it. I haven’t seen any issues on my other cars the way I’m seeing it on a 2026. I will probably have PPF applied on mine because it is only going to see more highway miles in the future. The ceramic coat only protects so much and I had the entire car treated including both front and rear windshields. PPF will be going on the hood and nose as well.

I guess the easiest way would be to buy some glass polishing like Cerium Oxide and use it with a Rayon pad. This helps light pass straight through instead of refracting.

That sounds like a good idea to me I am hoping that product can get enough abrasion to get down to a visible deeper chip. I have never used it do you feel it should work?

Do you do a lot of highway driving or roads with a lot of debris on them ? It sounds like it is being sand-blasted by road dirt. I once had a Honda S2000 that was really bad that way as the windscreen sat up very straight , almost vertical, it got blasted with stones and sand but over quite a few years. I eventually had it replaced with new.

Yeah I would say there’s a descent amount of side road debris that gets kicked up by landscaping trucks and other trucks. I always stay back from them and go around them when you can. I know PPF is something I am looking into for the future of my hood, nose, side mirrors and possibly the side fenders. I may need to look someone up who is reputable in the Orlando area. The ceramic coating is holding up beautifully but it doesn’t protect from stone chips. I noticed it is harder then the original clear coat so definitely was a good idea.

I have "Stek Dynotop" PPF on the windscreen of my GR Corolla..... It has saved the glass on 6 occasions now!!
Quite big stone strikes from oncoming traffic. so far only minor marks on the PPF and none on the actual glass. (y)

Yes definitely I would have had the dealership put it on before I took delivery but they didn’t have anybody in there area who installed it.

It's not going to get rid of the chips, but, reduce the amount of sunlight that reflects off of the chips, ultimately, you could replace the windshield itself. Not sure, how much that would cost. 😖

I see one but it’s not looking too deep so I’m hoping it can be gone over and then get the PPF
