Buying an EcuTech tune this week, looking for OTS with some remote tweaks, not doing enough mods to make a full dyno tune worth the trip and time.

I see both Racebox and SonicTuned get great reviews, but I am looking for some input before dropping the big chunk of change on a tune.

Also, what do I actually need regards hardware or whatever for the tune, both have multiple dropdown box options on the tune for connection modules/smart phone connection/etc and I am not clear on what is actually mandatory.

Appreciate any help here, last tuning I did myself beyond a piggyback chip was HP Tuners on LSx cars.

You pretty much picked the top two for the VR30. Both offer exactly what you want.

I'm probably a bit biased, but I picked RaceBox since they're local to me and that's who I used for custom dyno tuning and stopping in and visiting with them. The car handles this brutal Houston heat & humidity like an absolute champ and runs smooth as can be regardless.

I don't think you can really go wrong with either...but I do like the fact that RaceBox has a full-service shop and does full builds which, in theory, leads to more experience.

Do you plan to log & flash with your phone or your computer? Doing it through the phone app is mega easy/convenient/wireless so that may (or may not?) be worth the additional $150 cost to you.

Here is what your selections would look like:

I went with the Stillen. My wife drives the Z most of the time, no need for anymore power. I use it to bang thru the canyons out here on Colorado. For me it isnt about top end but the torque in 2-3 and 4 getting to and thru the next turn. The Stillen set to Race-7 punches me back in the seat when I stomp in the gas. Installation was straightforward, easy and all the things needed for an install are included.

I dont know anything about other inline tuners, just relating my experience with the Tru Control. For how I use it I’m rating it a 👍👍.

The only other mod I have is a Nismo Street exhaust.

Looks like OP already has the Stillen TruControl.

where you located in Fla? Its worth looking for options in driving distance just in case you want to dyno tune later on…

I'd say it's like going into a barber shop......sometimes you get a great haircut and sometimes.....
So true! Pick wisely...in both cases!

My Sonic OTS/ Stage1 tune should be in tomorrow. Ill post an update after I get situated. I went with him based on hours and hours of research and recommendations from many people including Eugene from Enthusiast.
