What would I need to do to remove the SIM card and GPS hardware without debilitating the machine and throwing error codes?
Has someone tried this yet? I would imagine most of the equipment to be on or near the infotainment. I would like to remove it to disable a path my government can use to track me. I would also like to remove the potential of Nissan to share my driving characteristics to any insurance company. Lastly, these car/auto manufacturers are notorious for data safety. Tech is not their specialty, so I wouldn't expect them to have the most stringent security programs. If Google can get hacked, these auto manufacturers most definitely are vulnerable. I do not want anyone to know were my car is. I am ok with losing some features as long as the vehicle itself functions.
I didn't think or care about this when I got the car, but now I do. Maybe I'm turning schizo, but it's whatevs. If no one has explored this already, then I'll probably have to dig through service and technical manuals on the wiring etc... to figure it out. I'm mostly hoping to get a head start.
