Nissan really jacked the screens. I normally run on this one so I can keep an eye on oil pressure, but I also flip to the other one from time to time so I can see my avg mpg.

Speaking of oil pressure, I picked up a couple of these Bosch oil filters. I have been running Mobil One M1-110A but when I was researching, a lot of people liked the Bosch over the Mobil. One person even said the start-up/idle oil pressure was a little higher. I DESPISE the low oil pressure/solenoid system of the Nissan. Ironically I think Bosch is the one who makes the solenoid lol...

These filters are also half the price of the Mobil One. I mean $13 for an oil filter isn't life-altering but I also think it shouldn't cost THAT much.

But I just changed my oil so I'll have to wait until probably the end of the year to report back

Have you verified the bypass pressure rating on these filters?

***EDIT***
I just looked them up and those filters do not have the correct bypass psi rating. They're listed as 14-18psi while the OEM Nissan filters are about double that.

Got resistors to try out the hood popper delete. Next step is to get a couple of connectors. My plan is to try it out on my car for a bit. Assming all goes as planned, would anyone else be interested in a set? I got 10 resistors, so unless I screw something up I'll have enough to do mine + 4 more sets.

I haven't...I didn't think about it since it's supposed to be the equivalent to the M1-110A...but I should probably do that lol

M1-110A is the same as that Bosch. I have yet to find an acceptable aftermarket filter, which is unfortunate.

I wonder what gives. I know people are using the m1-110a on their GTRs...but then I see this.

Possible Google is wrong tho...

Not sure what they call this in their catalog, but for a lot of Z owners it's the "Hatch Rattle Locator 5000"

I never looked up the bypass PSI. If a part number is listed as the proper one, why would I think I have to look up all the specs to make sure? Damn that's aggravating. I've always liked Mobil and Bosch stuff.

OK so I need to get OEM filters...do you have a good source? I read that whole thread about Japanese vs Mexican made filters...I don't remember the consensus.

To clarify, the question isn't directed at you...just venting my frustration out loud lol

It's like we try to take care of our cars the best we can, only to get tricked by different manufacturers...

So I guess it is just the NISMO with out an OP gauge.
I've been looking into gauges.
- OBDII...Haven't verified the oil pressure PID comes through OBDII
- CAN bus...Seems like a pain to wire
- Old-school, sandwich plate and sensor...Not sure which plate, as a lot are universal and I don't recall seeing anything here about it. Would like to avoid the plate if possible, another point of potential oil leaks, but unsure if there's an empty port somewhere I could use.
I feel like I want an actual round gauge rather than a trick little screen, but there's nowhere unobtrusive to mount one.

If anyone has info on this let me know (reply or PM). Thanks!

I have both the Japanese and Mexican filters, and actually prefer the construction quality of the made in Mexico filter after doing a mini comparison! It also had better internal louvers. You can buy the Japanese ones on eBay or the Mexican ones at any Nissan dealerships.

I guess I'll take a trip to the dealer while I'm off work today. I went back and edited my original post. I don't want to mislead anybody. But this is frustrating.

Added the eBay link above if anyone wants the Japan F1B.
