It’s Winter time up here in Canada so
I put my 2024 Performance Z into hibernation. Sure looking forward to driving it in the Spring!

So my red Nismo mirror cap decal didn’t last long when I put it on my carbon mirror caps. But if any of you guys want to purchase an aftermarket variant in many different colors for $19 plus shipping I found a company named, Premium Auto Styling that’s a way better deal than $330 for some decals.

got some quick jacks on black friday and put the all season tires on for a few months so i can keep driving around and not have to worry about freezing cold temps. Coming up on 42,000 miles now :please:

I have QJ's too. Are you just using the standard blocks that come with it on the pinch welds when lifting? Thats what I had been doing but looking for a better solution.

The "official" QJ pinch weld blocks are too deep in the cuts I am afraid to use them on the Z.

I made a thread about it here: https://www.nissanzclub.com/forum/threads/lifting-the-z-or-any-vehicle-with-pinch-welds.3617/

that's a great question! I'm still waiting on the final box so I haven't actually used them yet

Looks great! where is the front center jack point ?
There’s a little round “nub” that sticks down on the front subframe. However, my low profile jack couldn’t reach it, so I picked up the Cusco jack assist ramps. Can reach it no problem with the ramps.

The vertical pinch weld is not designed to lift the car. The deep cut out is what you need to prevent damage to the vertical pinch weld. There is a reinforced pad welded into the body for lifting. It’s located just inside of the pinch, see link below for pictures. Also take a look at your oem jack for an example of how a jack should interface with the lifting pad.

Plastic trim - since the car’s lifting pad is lower than the outside plastic trim, the jack’s pad will clear the plastic trim - as long the jack’s pad sits flat and parallel to the contact point on the car. Ideally the jack’s pad would have a step on the outside to make sure it clears the plastic trim similar to the oem jack.

Perfect thank you! Next time I will use the pinch weld adapters. Sounds like they are supposed to be deep cuts

Nice. Thanks! Would the color be gloss red or satin red?

Did the first oil change at 1,672 miles. Been keeping it under 4,000 RPM for the break in, so revving it out for the first time since I brought her home in March was fun!

Went ahead and installed a Fumoto valve and the Z1 undershroud while I was down there, and then took a glamour shot since I had her out of the garage!

I just bought the valve too after seeing your post. Had them on most of my previous cars. Still need to do my first oil change (its about 6600 miles :)).

Took advantage of the great weather in Ga today and washed her up.

2 things:
  1. I need to decide what I’m going to do to get rid of this dried on glue. I’d prefer to clean it off before polishing.

  2. Anyone have suggestions on a cool license plate surround?

Was messing around on the car today since it hasn't been driven for 6 weeks. My eyesight is good enough now I decided to take it around the block.

But I checked the battery first, I was surprised to see corrosion on the battery hold down. Cleaned that up but also noticed it's NOT a maintenance-free battery. WTF. Pulled the plugs, most were a bit low. Cleaned up the corrosion, filled with water, put it all back together.

Flat footed the accelerator pedal to spin the motor without starting it. I guess the tires got low and triggered a couple lights on the dash. With the car running and me airing up the tires, the flashers kept coming on.

I had touched the battery cables together to clear any memory...I felt like the car should have pulled harder than it was so now was a good time to reset. But my phone and garage code still worked so I'm not sure if it did anything? However, the car feels stronger than I remember even though it was 68° outside. So maybe?

Curious what the glue is from?
