Still waiting on the Z. But I have the GR86/BRZ as a second option.
although i don't think they will be as nice/fast as the z, they seem to be getting a lot of favorable reviews and love so far...

Same here, but two downsides of the twins for me are the lack of mt rev-matching (a big one) and the mediocre sound of the engine/exhaust, especially in-cabin.

For me lack of rev-matching is not a deal breaker but it's definitely a cool thing to have. My 350Z obviously didn't have it and I didn't think I'd care much about it on the 370Z, but I left it on more than I turned it off. I went from the 370Z to a 335i which doesn't have it and haven't thought much of it since, but it will be nice to have a car with it again.

You could always just rev match it yourself

^As far I'm aware this is solely a United States thing, it wouldn't fly in other countries. Free market capitalism.

nissan needs to get a move on. more and more people are dropping out and getting other vehicles.

mentioned this in another thread a week ago, but if things work out...I'll be picking up another mkiv soon.

Yep, just posted in another thread, I’m weighing my options up, do I go for a guaranteed car but a 5 month wait with a Miata, or I wait and hope Nissan stays true to their word .
If I had a set date I’d hold out, but the longer this is dragging out, the more I’m getting tempted to jump ship
