What brake pads?

I’ve always liked the hawk HP plus pads for track use on my other cars. They don’t make an option for the Z performance brakes. What are you guys using for track pads?

GLocs or Pagids are consistently what I use for track. Have not tried Endless, heard they are solid too. Those two felt better than Hawks (had DTC-60 and HP Plus before) my experience in hot SoCal.

Regarding XP10 how street able are they? I don’t drive the car very often on the street. For example the hawk HP plus was a good combination of street and track. What’s your experience with the XP 10.

I had them on my E46 M3, mostly tracked. They performed well, consistent, but they do get dusty and squeal some, if you don't mind that on streets. Needed to be warmed up to get rid of the squeal but that's from heavier use, i.e. higher temps.

For comparison, my Pagid RS14 on the Cayman squeals a LOT more, but performs even better on track. Compromises.

I use Carbotech XP-8 on my car. They are decent on the track and have a little squeal on the street every so often, but not bad at all. I like them so far, this is my first time using them and I have 2 track days on them so far. They have been holding up in the higher temps. they are not amazing, but I have decent feedback, so I have confidence in them. I hope they last a decent amount, the stock pads only lasted 2 track days (fronts). I have 2 track days on these so far, and they seem about 1/2 worn, so at least they are better than stock. I was considering getting XP-10's next, to compare. However, I don't know if the noise will be too much, or if they will last longer, or if the heat build up will exceed what the stock brake components are designed to handle. I'm thinking that a little bit of brake power drop-off to warn me to slow down, may be better than overheating the brake components and fluid, and causing the seals to melt, etc.

Each brand manufacturer has their own range of pads, street-autox-track day-road racing-endurance racing, research for what's best for your use. The more aggressive the more noise and dust, and rotor wear. You can try the XP10 to start with and adjust on the next set.

I keep my street pads to swap those back after track days, so much more livable.

Very. i would recommend the 8 or 10. The 12 will eat your rotors fast. The 8 and 10 are easier on the rotors.
