Has anyone done this? I tried but failed, probably gonna take it to the shop to get it done. The problem with the rivets is that the metal piece kinda sticks out and i cant drill into it

The metal should not be sticking out like that on tri-fold rivet. I used a manual rivet gun and each rivet was 3-4 squeezes of the gun and the metal stick broke off inside the hole on every one.

Even with an automatic gun this shouldn't have happened. They are build to break off at the correct pulling pressure.

It's almost looks like whoever installed yours just gave it a squeeze or two with a manual gun then used wire cutters or something to cut off the metal sticks. You can see that the sticks were cut in your photos.

Options here looks to be to grind them somewhat flat then drill the center or try to grind off the whole exposed circle? Not sure but seems risky.

These are installed at the dealer. If you are taking it to the dealer you bought it from I would tell them they messed up the install and show them your pics. Hopefully they will remove it for free for you then.

I installed my own cause I got it basically at closing time on a Friday and I was impatient and didn't want to wait till Monday and this took 5 mins to install.

Cut the head off with a mini hacksaw or rivet cutting pliers.

The bumper may flex too much, but try using a small punch to knock the pin out the back side.

Yes the chin spoiler, air deflectors in front of front wheels and tow hook grill cover are dealer installs on a performance.
Good luck!

Mine was not installed when I picked up the car from the dealer. Nissan specifically don't install them during shipping, trailer damage risks. So, dealers have the 'option' to install them. Glad they didn't on mine, I'm still deciding even to keep them. May go aftermarket instead.

I’ve studied & practice all types of Auto Collision repair. Try a spot weld drill bit. It has a sharp point in the middle like a wood drill. It cuts metal flat, (and as it’s made for steel) it can easily deal with Aluminum without much damage to the plastic. If it doesn’t come apart… Use a putty knife underneath & bend it up enough to peel the head off with pliers.
One type cuts around the weld & is no good for pop rivets. Be sure to get this type of spot weld drill bit

Be careful. I was told with removing there may be a parts of the rivet that gets tossed into the space not easily accessible and you might end up with them rolling around in that dead space. Please follow up with your success story.

I drilled them out in order to install a new front lip. Seems like any remnants might be removable when the undershroud is off.
