Had this in my cart since winter started, about to pull the trigger this week.
Owners , any regrets buying the Dual Ti? too loud? anything else I should know?
I used to have an HKS on my 350 and loved it, but I now have Ti money and would rather get Ti vs SS.
For reference: I think 350s with single Tomei are an embarrassment.

If you can wait a bit longer, the authentic Tomei from Japan will likely be released to the public.

Great exhaust
I have the Tomei USA full catback
Not obnoxious at all.
I'd say it does make the exhaust louder overall and a cold start is a little loud, but tones down quickly thereafter.

WOT is bliss!!!

I got the Tomei USA on release, honestly the TI is well made and has held up extremely well with 3700mis/6000kms

It really has a unique tone and depth overall and I'm happy with it.

I have a few clips

Will post more this coming spring (in Canada, about a month out)

Is there a place where we can hear it? I know it wouldn't be the same but... anything helps.

already watched you videos lol. thanks for the info.
Was contemplating the alpha 5 package, but I just don't think the e85 is for me. I'll probably end up taking my car there whenever I upgrade turbos in x years.

prolly end up buying the tomei from Z1, the original plan.

I don't really care if the tomei was made here or Japan, I hear about this.

Thanks all!

I’m confused by this statement. On Tomei’s website they state that all exhaust is designed in Japan.

Designed in Japan, yes. I am sure some Japanese approved the US process, and then some online idiots think there is a lower quality welds from the US ones. And its not officailly a Japanese part made in Japan.

Ordered the type d and 0W-20 oil last night! about $2900 total on Z1

Sounds better than my regular Performance exhaust... that's for sure...

I think it looks sick! I worry about changing the exhaust and having it sound “rice”. It’s so hard to know what something sounds like by video. I’m also not a fan of the Tomei Y pipe squeezing down to a single 2.76” pipe. I wish they would have gone a tad bit larger. Thinking of going (big maybe) with the Z1 “Premium Modular Y pipe w/ resonator to take the edge off a little more. That what once down pipes are put on, it doesn’t get too loud. Just a thought.

It's nowhere near the same tone as the 370/350/VQ engine

Much more classy and contained, with a satisfying sound on WOT
Mix in my NISMO CAI, it's all the right sounds.

I'll be putting full catted DPs after warranty (next spring) and I agree with the <3in pipe
I'll run that for a season and may switch to a full 3in setup if I see problems on the tune.

Regarding the welds
Honestly, they're top notch.

If you plan on keeping stock turbos and you do 2.5” lower downpipes and a tune it’s perfect. I had a Q50 before the Z. The outlet of the primary downpipes is 2.5” so going up to 3” after that is pointless. The most important area to open up is right after the turbo. 3” full downpipes are supposed to help but the returns aren’t as big as just doing lowers and a tune. This is from going back and forth with the tuner that has hard numbers to back it up. Not just my opinion. The further down the exhaust path the less the diameter matters because the exhaust is cooling down as it flows. Full duel 3” exhaust is technically overkill unless larger turbos and you’re trying to squeeze every last drop. Thats why z1 gets 600 to the tires through a single 3”. Proof. Not to down anyone’s sweet exhaust choices as it doesn’t hurt anything at all. To each their own !
