* This interface is so bad on the iPhone that I can’t straighten out my photos, and apologize in advance.

I’m curious if anyone has thoughts on this situation.

I have been fixated on Nismo bronze and Proto bronze rims for my white Sport.

But these rims are pretty cool, too, and cost about $1700 instead of $3200-$3500+.

Can’t go wrong with Konig, wife ran them over and over on a WRX then BRZ and man these look sharp, better than OEM and likely allow more tire/traction with options. The bronze on your white would be pure fire. I’d check forgestar too in that range, especially with Memorial Day sales still going on. Their particular bronze finishes are incredible, gorgeous really, and they have a style near identical to these Konigs. Flow formed, impeccable quality and as mentioned super hot sunburst bronze or some such name, check it out.

Yep, my thoughts are that wheels designed with a mismatched lug number and spoke number like the Konig you're considering here with 5-lugs/6-spokes always weird me out. They just never look right to me and feel unbalanced. Even my stock NISMO/Rays wheels that are 5-lugs/9-spokes drive my OCD crazy, which is just one reason why I'm considering switching them to the NISMO/Rays LMRS1 (shown below), which are designed evenly balanced with 5-lugs/10-spokes (the other big reason being that they're available in offsets which provide flush fitment without need for spacers).

If the "Nismo bronze" wheels you mentioned that you "have been fixated on" happen to be the same LMRS1 that I'm considering as well (although I'm looking at either black or anthracite for my NISMO), I would strongly advise going for them if you too are also looking for flush fitment without spacers, especially if you also suffer the same sorta OCD I unfortunately do lol. The LMRS1 is a fantastic looking wheel, and if you're fixating that hard on them, the extra dough spent will be forgotten about long before the regret will from buying a less expensive wheel set that you're just settling on.

$0.02 and some pocket lint.

It's not just me! We should form a support group. You don't know how happy I was that the Performance wheels were 5 lugs and 10 spokes. I had a G35 with 5 lugs and 7 spokes, that never sat right, and don't get me started on my Tacoma with six lugs and five spokes. My G37 was 5 lugs and 15 spokes, which was a little busy, but okay.

Nope, you're hardly alone on this affliction. Plenty of us out here who sweat these sorta details. Hold me. lol

Another OCD wheel thing you may share with me is directional wheels where lazy manufacturers design/use a directional wheel, but in only one direction. So what winds up happening is you look at one side of the vehicle and the wheels are sweeping forward, but then you look at the other side of the vehicle and the wheels are sweeping backwards. Not good, and drives me nuts @#$%^&*<(>/_+!

Anyway, regarding proper lugs/spokes combos, here's my personal rule of thumb:

4 or 8-lugs w/ 4-spokes = good
4 or 8-lugs w/ 5-spokes = bad
4 or 8-lugs w/ 6-spokes = depends on design
4 or 8-lugs w/ 7-spokes = bad
4 or 8-lugs w/ 8-spokes = good
4 or 8-lugs w/ 9-spokes = bad
4 or 8-lugs w/ 10-spokes = depends on design
4 or 8-lugs w/ 11-spokes = bad
4 or 8-lugs w/ 12-spokes = depends on design

5-lugs w/ 4-spokes = bad
5-lugs w/ 5-spokes = good
5-lugs w/ 6-spokes = bad
5-lugs w/ 7-spokes = depends on design
5-lugs w/ 8-spokes = bad
5-lugs w/ 9-spokes = depends on design
5-lugs w/ 10-spokes = good
5-lugs w/ 11-spokes = depends on design
5-lugs w/ 12-spokes = bad

6-lugs w/ 4-spokes = depends on design
6-lugs w/ 5-spokes = bad
6-lugs w/ 6-spokes = good
6-lugs w/ 7-spokes = bad
6-lugs w/ 8-spokes = depends on design
6-lugs w/ 9-spokes = bad
6-lugs w/ 10-spokes = depends on design
6-lugs w/ 11-spokes = bad
6-lugs w/ 12-spokes = good

Yep. I see this a lot now on everything from Audi to Volkswagen. Literally, within the past month, I was out walking my dog with my wife, and I said look at that car, the spokes sweep forward at the top on the driver's side and backwards on the passenger side. She looked at me like I'm crazy.

Haha, same story here, man. Back when my wife and I were dating I'd point out all kinds of things like this to her that she was totally oblivious to. Fast-forward to today and she now points them out to me too. She told me I 'infected' her with my 'disease' and now she can't stop seeing these types of visual offenses practically everywhere. Welcome to the club, babe. It's a jungle out there. She also says she liked it better when she was oblivious to all this. lol

I’m OCD but don’t have time to apply it to rims. When I was younger I wasted time on that stuff, but right now I want bronze 19s and couldn’t care less if I get on my knees and stare at lug nuts if there’s a mathematical problem. I just don’t care.

That said, I do appreciate any and all complaints because I asked for opinions and these ALL help me think through what’s important for me.

Thanks for all the comments.

I see what you’re saying, but the lugs on the Rays are a lot more prominent. It still wouldn’t bother me because truth be told I’ll be in another car in 6 months, but I get it for the modding crowd. It can get crazy trying to make everything perfect.
