Tall Driver Mods?

Looking to pick up a 2026 Z in the upcoming months.

I'm 6'5" and 240lbs.

I have test drove a 2026 Z Sport and a 2025 Z Performance. I am leaning toward the Performance model for the brakes, larger screen and the LSD.

I fit in and can drive both. But I would like to have more room, head room is not a problem. It is more so with the leg room.

I'm not a stranger to modify my vehicles as most are on a dyno shortly after receiving them or have parts waiting for them before I have received them.

With the 2026 Z Sport being the first one I test drove I did notice a little more room in it then the Performance.
Is this correct and from the Performance having different seats (Heated)?

The only 2 mods I have seen so far are a flat both steering wheel and new seat and rails.

I haven't seen anyone compare a stock Z wheel to an aftermarket flat bottom one to show it actually does help. The Wheels I am looking at retain the factory airbag BTW.

I know the seats I will be giving up the air bags in the seat and maybe the heat warmers.

Anyone replace the stock steering wheel and actually gained some room?
Anyone do any modifications to the stock seat to get more room?
Anyone replace the stock seats for more room?
Any other mods to help a taller driver?

This is not directly addressing your questions. But I have noticed that the stock wheel is not perfectly centered on the steering axis. You will notice that the radius is smaller on the bottom than on the top. You can see this as you roll through a turn if you watch the top of the wheel it will fall and rise as the wheel spins. With this in mind, if you got an aftermarket wheel, would it really help you except for getting in and out of the car, and only if the steering is centered.

Actually this is really helpful and does address my question. I was thinking about this too and even was able to compare some photos I found on the web.

If you do get any room from a flatbottom wheel that uses the factory airbag and surround covers it will be very minimal and only aid in getting in and out of the vehicle. After driving my daughters Toyota 86 last night I notice that the flat bottom was not going to be helpful for me.

I'm just shy of 6'2" and 215. I would love if I could get the driver's seat to slide back another inch or two. Young me would have fabricated something already. Old me now worries about safety in an accident! I'm watching with interest for any suggestions to your question. Sorry I don't have any advice.

I found that I needed a few inches more headroom when I wear a helmet for track days. I noticed this bracket under the seat looked like it had a lot of room underneath it so i found a metal fabrication shop in my area and they helped make a new one
