Can I get some opinions here? I think my alignment might be off. (Yeah. the stock Yokohamas are made of freeze-dried oil slick.)

Interesting to me that the center mold flashing (rib) is still there after 10k miles. I think I still see a nipple on the rear.

It does look like the inside has more wear than normal. Have you had an alignment? I remember you asking someone the other day about alignment numbers/angles.

The rear looks over inflated causing the center of the tire tread to wear prematurely. Maybe Im not seeing what youre seeing in the pics 🤔

I had my car alignment done after purchase. So many different owners across all manufacturers have the same premature tread wear complaints. Once I started doing alignments on new vehicles, my tires have last longer than 12k miles, if not doubled over the people having to replace them around 10k miles

I agree with bpeckham's comment 😎🤙🏽

Just looked up the tires, Yoko Advan Sport, and there’s a lot more rubber worn away than it appeared to me in the pics. I’ll leave this one to those who ACTUALLY know what they’re talking about :censored:

Seriously, though. I got about the same milage out of the rear Potenzas on my car, and I'm pretty religious about keeping them properly inflated.

Solution; Looking at Continental ExtremeContact Sport2 AND Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 plus

Will have alignment checked.

While alignment is checked, I'll have them install the Z1 rear subframe tie bar (If you mess up doing it, you knock your rear end out of alignment....)

DWS06 are great tires. Ive had them for over 15 yrs. I live in Seattle and its been great with excellent tread wear and all around tire performance in wet/dry conditions with moderately good traction on compact snowy roads.

I been considering Summer tires for the Z. Just need good rain channels during our rainy days

Tirerack always gets promo deals through Conti on a set of 4 tires. With free road side hazzard warranty on every tire purchase

I find that I need to move my Z around in the winter here in NJ. Don't want to invest in true summer tires, and mess them up.

The scores for the DWS06s on TireRack are comparable to the ExtremeContact Sport2

I have ExtremeContact Sport2's on my Z. They're lovely tires, well-suited for the vehicle.

Problem solved.
@Who.Am.Eye.2716 recommended the Continental DWS06s.

Went with 245/45r18 up front, and 275/40r18 in the rear. I would NOT go wider than 275 on the stock sport rim. The tire will DEFINITELY find the curb first.

Big +1 to Hudson Tire Exchange in Hackensack: https://www.hudsontireexchange.com/

They had the tires cheaper than TireRack. They went and picked them up in 30 minutes. They had the old tires stripped off, and waiting to receive the new ones. They also have an overnight wheel-servicing service. They clean, strip, and repowdercoat wheels for $159 each. Any color. I thought about it due to my severe curb rash on my one rim. Maybe some other time.

Why the DWS06 all-season instead of the Continental ExtremeContact Sport2? NJ winters. I might have to sometime move my car from my GF's garage to mine. Don't want to ruin the tires. Additionally, the TR reviews have the two tires very comparable. I'll take more rain traction.

With the car lifted, and the back tires on, the 275s stick out! I was like, "CRAP! Good thing I don't have spacers! But, down on the ground, everything is good. (Might run a 10 mm spacer on the front to even things out.)

Congrats on the new tires. what was the camber reading before and after you had the alignment done?

My stock setup looks like maybe -1 degree of camber on the front and -2 on the rear. There is a big difference visually. i‘m planning on setting the fronts a -2, same as the rear When i buy news tires. The front ride height looks taller that the rear - so hopefully -2 on the front will lower the front end a little. If not, I’m thinking about running a taller tire in the rear.

Looks like the stock tire wear was from positive camber - not good. you want to see the wear on the inside of the tires - thats a good thing.

Wear on the out of the tire is bad news for handling. Even tire wear is not a good for handling - good for tire life but not for handling.
