More power=more heat but with the proper tuning It's adjusting AFR's to properly keep the engine running cooler and preventing dangerous lean conditions. All the maps are still well within the safety parameters of the ecu.

If there is oil consumption consider utilizing a catch can system from the blow by. However, we have not had reports of oil consumption from using our tuners.

That being said should I avoid using an addon like this without a larger heat exchanger and higher viscosity oil? I have Nismo intakes and Nismo track exhaust, stock downpipes.

The tuning box has 7 different maps that are included so its pretty adjustable and you can do it on the fly through the app. I would suggest trying it out and if you notice higher temps ect then you can start to add other parts to help mitigate. It doesn't make sense to start tossing parts at it if potentially you may not need to.
As far as the oil that really depends on where you're located and the ambient temps. It's not always a bad thing to run a thicker oil but again if you don't need to I wouldn't start changing things until issues come up.

With customers who buy the tuner from us we let our tuner know what mods the customer has and they will adjust the maps accordingly to your tuning box.

Here's a good video of installation. And an initial seat of the pants review.
Its probably a 10 minute install, very well explained over a long video.

He plugs it in -> then skip to 35min mark
So much fluff on that video for such an easy plug-n-play. Question is, how easy it is to revert back to stock with no trace? Some of us in dreaded CA worry about warranty and smog certs!

There's 2 options here. You can leave the harness plugged in and remove the tuning chip and replace it with the provided deactivation plug. with that plug installed it's basically sending signals back to the ecu in its stock formation. Do not use the car if either the chip or that plug is not installed while the harness is installed.

The other option is to just unplug the harness all together and plug back in the oem sensors which would put the car back to stock formation.

uninstalling is as easy as installing.

How similar to the Z's Standard drive mode is the Eco map?

It's pretty similar I believe the only difference is the eco map will cap at a certain HP point to minimize engine load to help reduce fuel consumption. Perfect for stop and go city driving.

From the video it looks like the 3 modes, race, sport and eco are adjustable.
I would bet you could just dial eco right down to zero.

Will those other tunes work better? Absolutely. They are custom-made for you.

For weekend warrior types, I think this will be the route I go. (Plus, with my luck, I'll need the warranty.)

Yeah sorry about the fluff, thats the way my videos go, I go on tangents very easy. Yes, easy install. It can be completely disconected with no trace in under 10 mins then put back on when you get back after going to the dealers.
Check out my other videos with some of the other little things I have done to mine. (Just fast forward the fluff) LOL.
Have a good one.
Matt.
