Sounds like OP has already made up their mind, but another thing to consider is that the spoilerless decklid looks soooooooo much better. 😆 I fully realize it is silly, but this was near the top of the list of my considerations when I was debating Sport vs. Performance. The spoiler ruins the classic silhouette, so much cleaner without, IMO. Especially with the Fairlady tramp stamp!

Oddly enough I actually really like the spoiler, it doesn’t completely ruin the silhouette but it kinda adds a touch of new sports car, I do love the Fairlady tramp stamp on yours though

New for New for both trims. Sport all day, especially if you plan to mod it. If you want the amenities that is offered in the Performance, then you will not regret it.

Lol. The last sentence makes zero sense. How will spending $5k on LSD and Wheels/Tires will make anyone go bankrupt by saving $10k 🤔
I spent 800$ on Better upgraded sway bars and endlinks kit, better $2400 Aero functional wing compared to the spoiler on performance, $1200 Aodhan 19X11 305 19X9.5 265 wheels Swift lowering springs $365, AWE track edition exhaust $1200 $$200 Spools Performance Race LDPs catless. A little over 6600$ so far. I plan to get the LSD estimate at most 2000 and a Tune to delete the speed limiter that's comes in just under 10,000$. Mind u I spent around 6600+ so far minus the future upgrade tune and LSD. My hardworking play $ no credit , so I'm not bankrupt.. No women in my pockets 😆

If you truly care about “performance”, the Performance trim will not satisfy. And if you’re gonna end up swapping the suspension, brakes, wheels , etc. anyways, I see no reason to pay the extra $10k. Unless you just really love Bose and leather!

The Performance trim just never made sense to me. The difference between the Sport and Performance on the road is negligible for “real” people (see: not keyboard racers or out of touch Motor Trend columnists), and the GT characteristics will be adequate for most drivers. But then the Performance doesn’t go far enough to satisfy true performance enthusiasts.

I went with the Sport. Paid $37k for a ‘24. I don’t care about leather, and if I get the mod bug, I can get a diff, suspension, and brakes for <$10k that far outperform the Performance trim.
Lol…
This post is the see you see from someone who is still trying to convince themselves that buying an open diff Sport was better than getting a Performance!

Never again leather guy or luxury car guy. I just want pure performance. No need for heated seats and apple play and other stuff on the infotainment screen.

Actually it’s about the limited diff and other performance improvements. But to each their own.

for me personally the performance stands out because off the lsd, the brakes, the wheels, all the "performance" bits even if its not much. all the leather, the carplay, the heated seats are just a nice addition added on.
obviously its a different situation because its not like im trying to get the performance new, i want it slightly used for the same price as a sport.

When I got in the Z game the price was 50,000 for performance. Trust me if it was 42K I would of grabbed it. But I wanted it then and dint wait for prices to drop. I'm happy! I love modding and starting from scratch. It's all good. Everybody happy 😊

This is the post you see from someone having a hard time coping with the fact that a Sport Z with $5k in suspension, brakes, and tires will absolutely walk a “Performance” Z, open diff and all. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Uh oh. We got the keyboard racers! Watch out! Lol

But for real all 3 options just offer a different set of fearures and amenities that will appeal to different people's needs. Trying to sell any one as just the only right choice is..
Well you're either living in a bubble or convincing yourself of something.

OP seems to have figured out the right one for their needs.

Agreed. The whole point of my first post was to warn that if OP is actually concerned about “performance”, then maybe the deceptively named Performance trim isn’t the best option. It’s well documented that the Performance is still a floaty, rolling mess when pushed. The $10k cheaper Sport makes more sense as a performance mod platform, since you’ll have to replace everything extra that comes on the Performance trim anyways. Just a PSA, didn’t mean to ruffle any feathers.

Didnt mean to start a mini argument here, but I appreciate all the pieces of advice, I think performance is the trim for me, as much as I know it’s dumb, I still really like all the dumb stuff like CarPlay , heated seats and all that

Do the math. Those 2 things say are 5k. 5k is half of 10k without everything else you get in a performance trim.

I totally agree, but You're not saving enough to go base model. Period. The sport is already way too much money.

I get the wheels and tires I want. It doesnt look like every day traffic with stock setup. I can get better audio speakers, subs, and amp, non heated or powered racing bucket seats and still have money for dinner at a 5 star restaurant.

To each their own
