SOLVED: The stupid seat belt holder creaking noise

Has anyone dealt with the endless popping and creaking coming from the cheap POS plastic thing holding the seat belt at the top? I’ve tried everything and so irritated I’m about to rip it off the side of the car.

I don't think I've heard this. Is the noise happening when it clicks to a new detent, or some other aspect (like torquing)?

It’s just a constant popping and rattling. I’m pretty good at finding and solving rattles after owning 30 cars, but this is seriously pissing me off. I heard it in the 2 cars I drove and didn’t buy. I think it is very typical and apparently people don’t care. But it’s super annoying if I just want peace and quiet. I really am about to just saw the stupid thing off. Possibly today.

I have not experienced any noises in my Z at all so far, I guess no one was out sick the day mine went down the line.

You may be hearing the headrest if you are very tall and have the seat all the way back, as the headrest if not in the lowest position does rub the headliner if the seat is in the fully back position for legroom.

Mine has a rattle when the bass/beat hits. It's right by my ear! I've poked, swivveled, smacked, etc the thing, but it won't go away!

I have a rattle in the rear left somewhere that’s doing my head in. A piece of trim on the hatch maybe. Can’t locate it

It's annoying. I tend to forget about it but when I do notice it, it bugs me. C'est la vie.

I spray a bit of the good old interior cream in there so it doesn’t squeak

The cold start window rattle feels far worse than this haha

I wonder if the belt is uncomfortable if the piece is removed.
