Anyone worked with Copart? Do they part out the cars? Wanting to get my hands on some red interior pieces.
I'm assuming the moderator of the thread should know better.

Seeing all these wrecked Z's... and wondering about some of those... where one could see that some upgrading was made. All that money wasted.
I think the Z's are fine as they come. There's no need for more power. At least not for daily driving.
I already got stopped once for speeding; on a local road. Nothing crazy but, definitely above the speed limit to warrant a ticket. I got a warning this time.
It is very difficult to drive this Nismo slowly. Even at speed limits. The cars just wants to be driven fast...

Somewhere around here I explained how limited slip differential can be more dangerous than open diff.

Basically, a LSD is designed to spin both wheels somewhat close to the same speed, which prevents one-wheel-peel and is good for putting the power down on launch or corner exit, and, if intentional, makes drifting more predictable.
However, in some situations it is much worse because if you get both rear tires spinning, you basically have no rear lateral traction, which sucks if you do it while losing control. With open diff, one tire can try to provide lateral control. Overcook either type, and it really won't matter, your day is about to get real bad

Gentlemen, my first career included years as a national salvage manager at Farmers Insurance. We did $400 million + in sales of $1 billion + of total loss payouts a year at IAA and Copart. The days of an individual getting any kind of deal at these auctions ended 30 years ago.

Over half of IAA and Copart sales go to foreign buyers (all the auctions are online now) where the cars are shipped to Africa and the Middle East for parts and rebuilds. The rest are bought by used dealers to build and sell at buy here pay here places and parts wholesalers to be parted out for repairs on repairable vehicles.

If you win a vehicle at one of these auctions as an individual buyer, it's because the big boys have allowed you to buy it at a ridiculous price where you bid it up to the point they are no longer interested = you lose.

As far as everyone thinking these wrecked Zs were all do to out of control drivers, there are 50x more corollas, civics, Camrys and accords in those same yards, are you going to say the same about those drivers? Accidents happen people, just because there is a wrecked Z does not mean it was being hotrodded, they get hit by people running stop signs, stop lights, etc etc just like every other make and model of vehicle. Surely some of them are by people being stupid but that goes for all cars.

That's all, peace everyone.

Of course there are more, but there are over 9000x more corollas, civics, camrys, accords than Zs on the road. Of course not every wrecked Z are due to the driver's ego but since it's a sports car it's much more likely.

That's my point, the ratios matter. We agree friend. Lots of posts in this thread talking like these wrecked cars are all about drivers losing control of them. Good stuff.

(Bottom line up front: I want the driver to be 100% healthy and uninjured)

I want to find a wrecked Z that the whole front end has been knocked off so I can look at the AC / heating air passages, and find the low spot that becomes a SWAMP.
