I’d like to add an LSD to the Sport Z for next summer. I’m leaning towards a clutch type 1.5 way. I have OS Giken in mind but do you guys know any other brand that are better value?

See if Quaife has one for our Zs. I had the mechanical helical in the 240Z R200, bulletproof!

Do a search for LSD <and> Mugzilla

I kicked around having one built out. I just bought a NIB LSD from Nissan Parts for a 2024 6MT performance. Swapped out my open pumpkin for the new LSD.

I have my stock open 2024 6MT pumpkin in a box. If you are hell-bent on building out one, perhaps buy a used Sport pumpkin, so IF your shop doesn't set the lash correctly and it eats itself, you still have a stock pumpkin so you don't lose use of your car while it gets redone.

(Mine is listed in the equipment exchange....)

When you swapped to the performance pumpkin, did you just disconnect the axle and drive shaft, swap pumpkins and connected everything up?

I used the Z1 diff cover, as the stock 6MT performance LSD diff did NOT have the breather installed. If I was installing a breather onto the stock cover, I would not have the balls to hammer one in and possibly introduce shavings in to the pumpkin. I installed the Z1 breather BEFORE installing the cover onto the pumpkin.

You described the swap process exactly. The rear triangle brace gets removed. I dropped the exhaust too. I had extra Adams Ceramic, so I ceramic-ed the pumpkin, and above where the muffler goes. Why? Because I was using a lift, had the time, and am anal-retentive. (And I share too much.)

I used RedLine fluid, as it already had the LSD additive in it. And it made me feel special, because I have an inferiority complex, and I think the stock Nissan LSD fluid must be the bottom-of-the- basement quality stuff.
