I've leased my 24' Z Nismo from 12 miles to 22,745 miles. I inquired about purchasing since the 1 year lease is up in 3 months.
They quoted $50,064 before taxes title and dealer fees.
I thought I'd seen sub-10k mile 24' Nismos running around $46k-$48k.
Am I correct in assessing this price to be too high?

KBB lists private party sale between $40.5K and $44K (excellent condition, 22k mi, your zip).
Consumer Reports values it in Average condition between $45.9k to $47.7k, and Clean (excellent) condition between $50.2k to $55k.

I tried others but they want VIN or license plate to look it up.
I have no idea how accurate these estimates are, but it’s a pretty wide range of $40.5k to $55.0k.
i also haven’t been paying attention to car values, but I don’t think that’s a terrible deal fora 2 year old 22k mile car with an original MSRP around $69k (guess).

Will they deal? Sort of making up a number here, but if they feel like they can get $48k for it, they’d rather deal down to 48 (or whatever number that is) for you than gamble on it sitting on the lot for however long and maybe still getting that number 4 months from now.

One positive for you that almost no one gets with a used car buy is you know everywhere it’s been and how its been treated. If you’ve dogged it like a Hertz Hellcat rental, you shouldn’t pay any premium, regardless. But if you’ve taken good care of it, it may be worth a few extra bucks.

There's plenty of cars in my area that are going for 50k with only about 2k to 5k miles on them, so they could do a little better than that. Use this to your advantage.

You're nine months into a 1 year lease so you haven't paid down much of the original value, meanwhile market prices are lower than they were a year ago. You also won't have much leverage with your original dealer - they know you won't simply turn it in at the end of the lease and take a $6k hit for the excess mileage.

You may have better options if you buy a new Z from a different dealer. They'll negotiate more to earn your business and would have to buy out your current Z to take it in on trade. It won't fix the negative equity in your lease but will at least give you a second offer/opinion.

As an aside, 22k miles in 9 months is impressive!

Your lease should have had a residual value stated in the contract, the amount the vehicle would be worth if you wanted to buy it at the end, plus dealer services which might be as little as another doc fee and your new title and registration, since it was in the lease company's name.

If you want to know if it's a good deal, ask what you'd owe if you walked away from it at the end. I'm guessing you'll owe them what wsuZ mentioned and maybe some rubber at 22,700 miles.
If $50,000 gets you a car that you want and you're off the hook for excess miles, it might be your best option.

Also, I looked at a year old Nismo Z when I first started and while it only had 5300 miles it had already resided in 3 states, had worn-out rear tires, a chipped windshield and stone chips on the hood.
What I'm saying is you know your own car and what kind of treatment it's had. If you go the other way study the CarFax!

It's leased from Nissan corporate directly, pricing is completely inflexible.

I've only brought it in for the required 10k maintenance intervals and I'm sure they used 0W-20.

I didn't follow any break-in procedure, and had it up to 162mph within 5 miles of the dealership, so probably 17 or 18 miles on the odometer.

I don't know if I drive it hard compared to other people, but the stock Dunlops de-treaded at 18k miles and they're good for 15k so I don't think I was as hard on it as I thought I might be.

There's no obvious symptoms of anything being wrong with it.

I mostly use it as a commuter car, but I drive at night so it regularly gets run to 130-150 if it's safe to do so, probably not good for the engine.

What is the assembly date (located in door jam)? is car soon to be 3yrs old?
05/24.

it still has 3 months left on the lease, I can let this quote expire, run the miles up to the 30k limit and inquire again.
Their price was based on miles alone.

Damn, no break in procedure, a 162 mph out of the gate and she still going strong at 22k miles is impressive!

"I didn't follow any break-in procedure, and had it up to 162mph within 5 miles of the dealership, so probably 17 or 18 miles on the odometer." Just on case, I'd do a trade in. Have you heard of "a break in period"? Just asking for a friend.
