Oh and P.S Peter Brock is an Aussie so we better get the performance model in Aus if they took his input
Sorry - different Peter Brock - the guy who met with Alfonso is an American and created the BRE Nissan team back in the early 70s (the red/white/blue 240Z and 510 - #46)

Good morning Dan!

Thank you for being so accessible, this is what enthusiasts love.

So, I have two questions:

1. What colors will be available at launch (interior & exterior)?

2. Is the manual transmission exactly the same as it was in the 370Z, or has it been tweaked?

Thank you!
Sorry about delay.

Exterior colors - Three monotone exterior colors – Black Diamond Metallic, Gun Metallic and Rosewood Metallic. Two-tone - six colors combined with a Super Black roof: Brilliant Silver, Boulder Gray, new Seiran Blue, new Ikazuchi Yellow, Passion Red TriCoat and Everest White Pearl TriCoat.

Interior colors - black, red and blue.

MT is about the same as the 370Z, retuned for the new engine application.

@Dan_Passe - thanks for all the information regarding the new Z. As a long-time manual transmission driver I found the most difficult vehicles to shift smoothly were 2 Nissan products that I owned, a G35 coupe and a 370z. It has been the source of much internet discussion for many years, with folks complaining about the heavy clutch and difficult engagement point, making it difficult for some to launch smoothly.

Has this issue come to anyone's attention? Any information and insight on this issue is greatly appreciated!

Sorry about delay. It's called Ikazuchi Yellow - and it's a pearl tri-coat. It certainly glows in natural light.
Thank you, Sir! This makes me happy to hear. Just out of curiosity, do you know if it’s the same as the paint on the Proto? Apparently it’s been discussed somewhere but I can’t find it... To me it looked like I higher end pearl, maybe and ice pearl was used on the Proto... just curious.

Dan, something I've been trying to get ironed out... are you able to confirm if Ikazuchi Yellow, yellow calipers, and bronze wheels are specific only to the Proto Edition or if those will be options for the performance model as well?

It would be great if Nissan or @Dan_Passe can give us some updates or details between now and Spring since we’re still months away. Many interesting posts here and on other Z forums, most just speculations from loyal Z owners. Maybe like once or twice a month something we can chew on?

Hi Dan,
Two questions for you not answered by materials so far released:
  1. Will the TC be partially defeatable or is there only an on/off toggle? Most performance cars allow you to dial down TC intervention to intermediate levels allowing tail-out fun without seriously compromising safety (e.g. Corvette, GR86). Not having this feature, at least on the performance trim, would be a big miss.
  2. There is no mention in Nissan's written remarks about the configurable IP display as to whether it will have oil pressure and temperature gauges available, both of which are really useful and arguably essential if you plan to track your Z. Are they there?

If you can’t tune the new Z, some might be turned off and not buy.

If so, it better be 500WHP car lol
They said the GT-R was un-tunable and I could get 1600 Hp at JoTech where I get oil changes on my 2009 GT-R.

I have a question….what in the heck was that reveal?
No details
No prices
No dealership dates
No different spec levels or what’s in each
No anything really

We need answers after all this time!
I agree. The "reveal" revaled almost nothing. Meh.
