Q50's/Q60's are also pretty dated. If I had to guess, Nissan didn't change much since they were introduced over a decade ago. If I recall, I even remember reading the ECU has a 'manual' mode programmed into it that I think can be changed over..maybe in consult? I doubt the Z's would be that lucky.
Yeah, I know some don’t like to think about it, but our Z’s are dated as well. They are quite literally a re-skinned 370Z with some user interface updates and a Q50 motor. This was an exercise in giving the enthusiast something they ask for without spending a bunch of time and R&D money that they didn’t have. (I’m not complaining at all as I knew this before my purchase and think that the platform is great.) Sure, they made small changes where needed to stiffen the chassis, and increase reliability, but for the most part they are the same thing. I’m not saying I think it’s a great idea to do a swap. I’m just saying that it’s not the equivalent of reinventing the wheel here. Many much more difficult swaps have been done. Like I pointed out in an earlier post. SpecialtyZ swapped a BMW DCT into his 370. I am pretty sure that’s a much more difficult swap than swapping in a manual that was actually meant to be in the chassis.

The 370 probably has a lot less Can integration and if it's a manual car that received a DCT it would be a lot easier than going the other way. There's some dedicated hardware out there that allows for controlling a DCT as well. You'll run into less issues putting a DCT into a manual chassis because its not looking for any factory auto components that will no longer be there.

As far as the RZ34, while it is a revised 370 chassis, its pretty different otherwise. Hell, the safety systems alone are a leap forward (and likely CAN dependent.)

We will have to agree to disagree my friend. The OP has decided to stick with the auto anyways which makes it a moo point, it’s like a cows opinion, it just doesn’t matter. Lol.

No opinions matter in this context. They help with perspective especially when the opinions are backed by experience and technical knowledge.

Lol. Dude. 1. The above opinion post is literally a Friends reference and was a joke. Hence the ā€œlolā€

2. Almost every post in here has been people’s opinion.

3. I was the guy that said if you want to do it then go for it.

I’m here for support and ideas and to hopefully help others.

Yep. As far as transmission swaps go, the easiest one would be the one that is actually available for the chassis from the factory. Not saying it’s going to be ā€œeasyā€ or cheap. But totally doable. At least that’s my opinion. šŸ˜†
