Passion Red - Cancelled AUS

My worst fear was confirmed this morning. After seeing Passion Red removed from the AUS website a few weeks back and no communication from my dealer, I hoped red was still coming. Someone posted on FB that a dealer communication was sent out confirming no Passion Red cars unless you already have an order "on the way"

I called my dealer and got the same shit I always get.
- Oh I've been doing my best to see if I can still get one.
- Yes we got the comms on Monday.
- I'm speaking to Nissan because you've had the order for so long

I could've waited another 10 months no probs for a red car, but I'm not sure what I want to do now

It shits me even more, that I've turned down a white, blue, yellow, black and grey car to wait for the red

Sorry to hear this but in a way im not surprised as there is something going on behind the scenes with that color. Dealers in the US are being restricted from ordering it and I've read its a multi month wait for it in Japan. So makes sense Australia isn't immune to whatever is happening with the red

It’s kind of odd to me that is color in particular is apparently so troublesome to produce considering it’s not new; I believe they’ve offered it on the Q50/Q60 for several years now.

I haven't had confirmation of a car being built yet.

A bunch = maybe a dozen country wide

I have a red Q60, and I recently had certain parts, the roof, a pillars and mirror caps repainted because the paint was failing.

I blame environmental regulations for it, and it probably got worse for the new Z. They probably did you a favor by cancelling a color they didn't trust to hold up.

I’m in the same boat unfortunately. Been waiting for a red one since Feb 22. I’d probably consider a different colour but my dealer can’t even be arsed returning calls or texts. It’s not like I’ve had much contact. Zero communication from Nissan without my instigation. Just put a deposit on a manual Supra. Guess I’ll see which one turns up first

I've got a red 2009 370z
14 years old and it's mint.

I had a 1998 Maxima that we drove to nearly 300k miles, barely had any rock chips on the nose, that paint was still good looking after 15 years

Older paint seemed more durable, I think as new environmental regs come along, the paint gets worse.

Haha it's a scam account. It sent me a message request asking me if they can assist me with problems with my car, and they apologized for any inconvenience poor customer service has offered me in my country
