Nissan Z Frameless Mirror

Hey all, anyone here installed the frameless rear view mirror option that Nissan sells? It looks quite nice and much classier than the base mirror with the large plastic trim. The part numbers seem very confusing to me. There's a part (T99L1-5ZW16) that specifically lists only the 2023 Z as compatible and costs $150 whereas another part number (T99L1-7LG0A) that does support the 2024 and 2025 is almost $100 more. Any idea on what changed?

I've installed the frameless mirror on my '25 Performance trim. Took 20 minutes, plug and play. I purchased T99L1-7LG0A, no idea what the differences might be between that version and the prior one.

I installed it myself also, it's super easy, you just basically pry down on the black plastic covers and it's all plug and play. I used T99L1-7LG0A, which is auto darkening with HomeLink. The T99L1-7LG0A part should work for all cars 2023-2025 that came with the auto darkening mirror stock(and possibly others).

I looked up the part number you gave: T99L1-5ZW16 , and that is the universal mirror that requires batteries to work and doesn't plug into the Z's harness. The HomeLink module is removable on account of the batteries. Below is pictures of the battery powered part number: T99L1-5ZW16 ( not recommended):

Also, the frameless mirror is extra awesome if you're tall! The stock bulky mirror blocked a huge amount of my view to the lower right side through the front windshield, but the frameless mirror is much slimmer while having the same sized mirror and can also be nestled closer to the roof due to lacking the 1/4 inch bezel on top so I gained a huge amount of visibility.

The only downside I've found is that the auto-darkening sensor is in the top area of the frameless mirror instead of the bottom on the stock mirror, so you have to make sure the top of the mirror is hit when you want it to darken (for me this was just adjusting it to aim down a little more than I normally would)

That bulky mirror is a complaint of mine too. I sometimes have to slide down in my seat to see under it. Going to order the frameless one!

Agreed, this is huge. I'm 6 ft so anything to help visibility is huge.

FYI I just ordered mine. Total was $226 with free expedited shipping. Seemed like the cheapest option I could find.

The mirror came today! What a world of difference. The install itself it literally just popping off the plastic cover around the mirror, removing the torx screw holding in the old mirror, swapping the plug, and reversing the process. 15 minutes from start to finish.

Edit: I see it was from boro nissan. They are bak-ordered there now.

They both fit, the cheaper one has batteries and the more expensive one does not. I made the mistake of getting the cheaper one it works fine but rather have the other one.

I got the same one you got. Nice to have the power button for the auto-dim.

If anyone is wondering, because I was, when you start the car it is on. The button is to turn it off.

I was hoping that was the case because if you had to press the button to turn auto-dim on that would be silly to me.

Also to add, if you turn it off, it will default back to on after the next ignition cycle.
