New lug nuts for new NISMO wheels just arrived. Fit and finish is very nice on these.

Forged steel bases, internally keyed, anodized aluminum sealing caps with O-rings, and floating seats.

Here's a few mock-up shots to kind of get an idea of what they'll look like together when installed.

Two piece lug nuts are a good investment to avoid damaging your wheels

R40 Iconix are some of the best lugnuts you can get. Free spinning base allows the nut to be tightened without scatching the surface, and the color insert can be swapped out for replacements or alternate colors.

The inserts come in metal or plastic. The metal looks spectacular, particularly with 3 piece wheels that have matching bolts, imo:

The DOWNSIDE of the metal inserts is that they will fade over time. This was after about 8 years of use

The plastic ones should avoid this problem; but they look alot worse. They're just a bland, flat color.

I went with the open Nismo lugs on my LMRS1s. I was trying to find a way to seal the ends of the threads. I wonder if something like those covers is available separately?

Short answer: no, i don’t think there are caps for that style

long answer:

I did some digging, and the Nismo lug nuts are rebranded Muteki HR38 lug nuts
You can see them here, the design is identical down to the encircling the lip.
https://www.z1motorsports.com/lug-n...ace-open-end-lug-nut-set-m12x125-p-18077.html

Muteki is made by Wheelmate, which in turn is a brand under the distribution umbrella of Mackin Industries (known for distributing Rays Wheels, Yokohama, etc)

(I incorrectly thought the Nismos were related to Project Kics
Project Kics is brand made by Kyoei, which is also distributed by Mackin.)

anyways the HR38/ seems good, I just didn’t see any caps for them

Solid work OptionZero! Thanks. It seems I could’ve also saved 60 bucks!

price of the Nismo logo these days, i guess

at least they seem to be a good product

Parts rebranded seems to be a recurring topic
Basically every NISMO part is rebadged. The exhaust, the suspension, CAI, etc.

this is somewhat correct
But we should distinguosh between “rebranded” and “manufactured by”

Nismo Clubsport wheels were Gram Lights 57CR wheels made by Rays, bwith a Nismo logo engraved in them

Nismo LMGT4 is made by Rays but not a rebranded version of an existing product.

even rr brand products may have tweaks beyond a label; im sure the Nismo Japan Ohlins have their custom spring/damper specs which differ from off the shelf versions

so there is nuance to all

nismo arms are SPL arms in exclusive red/silver colors, what that is worth is subjective

i wouldnt swap my existing versions for them but if I got another chasiss id think about it

The NISMO suspension components are only ~$100 more than the SPL variants. I have a Nismo Z so I think it's barely worth it.
