Yeah no way I would pay over $35k for the BRZ. I played with the options mostly with the aero kits and came out to just under $35k...which is not bad. Just want to see what they do with the GR86.

Watching this, I get the sense that the car would be a blast for track/autocross, but little things that just, don't make sense, would make it a headache for daily driving. Sigh.

Saw this thing in person too, as well as sat it in - I'm 6'6" and I had room to spare, which was a pleasant surprise. It's a lot nicer in person too versus reviews, etc. and I'd love to take it for a spin but it sounds like Subaru is going to be all in on fulfilling preorders and likely won't have many on the lot.

Tried to sit in the GR86, but it had a "PROTO - LOCKED" sticker across both sides.

Threw some thoughts in here - https://www.nissanzclub.com/forum/threads/the-all-new-2022-subaru-wrx-teased.254/page-7

But to expand, I liked the orange - it's kind of a burnt, sunset-esque vibe like we had on the 350 but a few shades darker and...browner? It fits the car well, though. But god, the black paneling is BAD. It just screams CrossTrek with the boot chopped off and some aggressive vents added. I'm guessing they did it to appeal to a broader audience and of course, if you thrash the car around a bit, less paint to scuff up, but still. It had some kind of pattern on it, should have snapped a photo, but it looked like they slapped the paneling on prior to painting, so primed and ready for paint but they just skipped that step.

Felt really good to sit in, though - felt like I was in a WRX. The screen is definitely big, but I bet you'd get used to it. I'm sure the car is fun to drive, as reviews have said. I just, don't know if I could get over the exterior. I guess we'll see what the aftermarket comes up with?

if they'd given it rev-matching on the manual I would have been very very interested. Stupid move to not offer it, Toyota already has the system on the Corolla.

I think she speaks on the oversized fuel filler door
