Thanks for sharing. Unlike most comments I read, my girl is not feeling the 86 like she is the BRZ. She was just happy to see that some of these parts exist even if they don't end up making it to US models.

The rods are bigger and to be fair it was meant to be na to have an even lower center of gravity.

I really like the gr86 and having a 10r80 5.0 power isn'tmuch of a deal breaker for me.
Lol nice!
I don't have a coyote lol maybe one day or an LT4
I was looking for this post, but yeah the rods look to be much beefier; I was lurkin on the FT86 forum. We'll see how the rods handle mods as time goes on.

my oldest daughter can drive in ten years I may get one within the next five years and pass it down to her one day. I think it be a good first car.
You are too kind…my youngest is due to get his licence in a year. I’m putting my RCZ up for private sale in the next few weeks, aiming to cash in on the high price second hand market.
If it sells quickly we will buy the cheapest safe car we can find for me to get around in until the Z arrives, then he can give me half towards whatever it costs…no way is he learning to drive in the Z, and it will be the only manual in the family if we don’t buy a cheap run around

after having my trd 86 for a few days now, i would highly recommend the car.

it drives and handles great. it's easy to drive, but fun. i think it would be a cool 1st car.

i would not recommend the supercharger for youngsters though lol.

Looks like bigger and longer stroke, likely to produce more torque at lower RPM-range. But the con-rod geometry is the biggest change of all. I wonder why.

For that price I would rather get the base Z.
agreed...

as good as the brz/frs/86 are, i would not pay near that for one.
i'd wait and get a used one for a considerable amount less...which is what i ended up doing.
Yeah, you'd be crazy to spend that much on a BRZ, but that price is including stuff like a pet carrier, harness, dog bowl, multiple license plate frames and wheel lock sets, organizers, etc. I fully optioned a Limited with stuff you'd actually use and it came out to $37,569 with an auto trans, which is still a lot of money.

I think we'll go with a Limited with manual trans which starts at $31,455. For the extra $2,500 they throw in leather/suede seats, 18x7.5 wheels with PS4 tires and steering responsive headlights. It says heated seats is added with the Limited, but then on the spec sheet it shows as standard for the Premium as well, so not sure about that one.

A Limited with all the added aero bits comes out to just shy of $34k. I like the front lip but wish they made the rear diffuser add-on gloss black instead of silver to match the rest of the optional aero.
