The OEM engine cover is a lot better-looking than the Z1 carbon fiber version. I bought the latter but no one that's seen it likes it and I'm not going to install it. The Z1 CF CAI looks nice but is a royal pain to install and is going to be just as aggravating to change the filter. I'd look at the Nismo version which is supposed to have an easily-replaced filter. I've got the sways installed but am waiting on the coilovers and camber/traction control arms and subframe bars. The undershroud is a improvement over the OEM chunk of plastic. Still trying to decide on exhaust and wheels.
Intakes from every company are a pain in the ass to install on the Z. That's just vr30 life lol.

Do you have pictures of some of these mods? This sounds incredible... Some of my parts should be installed today... Z1 heat exchanger, z1 carbon intake, z1 touring cat back exhaust, wheel spacers, switft lowering kit, short shifter, lower down pipes and the tuner from burger tuning... pretty excited! I would love to see some pictures of your car with the body parts installed... also would like to know your reviews on the intercooler upgrade kit from Z1...
I have been doing a slow unboxing and accumulation of parts. Because I have so much I’m trying not to do any double work, like removing the same things twice. Depending on how much I end up doing myself some of that may be unavoidable. Currently I’m waiting on Z1 to get my replacement set of downpipes to me. I actually have been pretty disappointed with their order process and I’ve spent a lot of money with them. For more frequent updates my Instagram is listed within this thread a few times and my Youtube link can be found there for install videos as they come. I hope you follow along im enjoying sharing this build.

Once I have everything out and taking a good look at it I may have a few custom touches done to the engine cover. Including possible a hack job because im not sure if the AMS intercoolers are even going to fit with it. I dont think any part of this is going to be worse than my possible attempt to do the downpipes myself. I have a bad back so there is a chance I get a half day into it (or less) an decide to take it to a shop to finish the work. With the amount I drive my cars I would be surprised if I ever have to change the air filters. Are you waiting to order the subframe bars? Or waiting to receive them? Z1 site says ships within a month and I'm approaching that timeframe. Just curious if you are waiting how long it has been?

I did lower downpipes this weekend and it wasnt easy even with two people lol. The process is super straightforward, just a few bolts but the spaces are so tight its such a pain in the ass. Full downpipes would be a major pain.

Yeah I found two videos online and it doesn’t look fun. I wouldn’t even hesitate if it were not for my back. My plan is to spend and hour or two a day on it for a week or so and if I’ve hurt myself, or not made much progress, get it to a shop.

The lowering spring and wheel spacers make a big difference! Just got them installed today… along with the z1 exhaust… intake and heat exchanger tomorrow!
Yeah that looks great! Did you just get the Z1 package or pick your own sizes?

Following these upgrades. Hey @Mr&Mrs and @Tyler Z I have a question. Will the 370Z Nismo V2 Recaro Sportsters be direct bolt in, including airbags? Any info on this?

I’m pretty sure the Nismo Juke seats were plug and play into the 370z. So it would probably be safe to say yes. I doubt they changed the wiring harness or control module. I was thinking about trying the Juke seats in this car but I would want near mint condition and all the ones I find are worn pretty badly.

I hope so, I’m referring to the Nismo 370Z V2 seats into the new Z. Those are easier to find than Nismo Juke’s.

Can’t say for sure. I was just using that as a reference of adaptability. I quickly searched v1 to v2 swap and found a video on YouTube of someone doing it. So that leans even more towards yes, I’d think anyway. It’s at least confirming they plug right into an older 370z and the harness is the same.

I installed the sway bars in mid-Sept and ordered the coilovers, camber/traction control arms, and subframe bars back then. They're supposed to be shipped at the end of October, at which point it will be too cold to do any work. I can relate to the back injury so you have my sympathy.

By 1 PM tomorrow there will be 8 videos up on YouTube of each thing that has been removed so far. Nothing major, mostly self explanatory items up to this point. The front bumper was a bit different to remove then our 09 370s because of the wiring harness for the sensors.

Current plan is to remove heat exchanger next, then air boxes or intercoolers, and which ever of those two after. Exhaust and downpipes will follow after that. What I hope to gain by leaving everything out is a clear line of sight on the down pipes from up top. So I can attack them from two sides.
