My new ‘24 Z arrived after a nearly six month wait. A manual performance model in white.
The anticipation was fun for a few months, once I was told it had shipped the wait was long. In reality about 20 days. Really nothing compared to the beak-in period, which I am 800 miles into.

As you all know the car is a joy to drive and we’ve just put 350 miles on it with a quick trip to the coast. I have found that 2nd gear is one to get in trouble with and the feeling of the car pulling from 60 to 75 in 5th is dreamy. The way the car rails through curves after a quick downshift is enough to keep me awake at night. Keep in mind I’ve been driving an ‘85 King Cab 4x4 with all of >112 HP. I’m now stalling the truck all the time, it's tough switching between the two clutches.

For me the first mods were both utilitarian and cosmetic. Hood wrapped to reduce low angle glare, my nemesis, and the A pillars to match body lines. Additionally I wrapped the katanas and the upper rear bumper. I think the bumper was a missed design opportunity that Nissan should rectify as soon as possible. And of course protection on the front bumper, lights and fenders.

I have a summer of road trips planned. My older brother is flying from Hawaii to Seattle and we’re driving to LA where my younger brother will drive back with me. Ditto with friends in Philadelphia, Chicago and Albuquerque.

Eventually I will take it to the track and let it out a bit. I think there are three here in the area.

My favorite view of the car is out the side view mirror looking at the rear fender bulge.

Any other western Washingtonians want to meet up?

Daniel

Hello everyone! 2024 Performance 6spd. First time Z owner, but second VR30. I picked it up a couple of months ago and so far I love the car. I love that it is all Nissan, all Japan. I wanted a 370 from its beginning, however It was just never in the cards for me. All of the negatives from all of the reviews didn't faze me one bit as I already had done so much research on the Z34, and already understood how the aftermarket fills in the void so well. So while magazines were complaining that it is the same chassis, it put a smile on my face because for the most part we have a 12+ year head start in the performance aftermarket.

Mods:
Clay bar and Ceramic coated

I performed a test fit for a company (that will remain nameless) on a short throw shifter which ended up being a terrible experience. I had to massage it to get it to work at all to say the least. Files and sand paper were used just to get it to cycle through gears and for the reverse lockout to work properly. I ended up ordering the shifter from Z1 as well as the solid aluminum mounts and it turned out absolutely amazing. If you think you want a short throw, purchase the Z1 and don't look back!!
I coupled the short throw with a Likewise shift knob which is white delrin. I love it!

I have, but yet to be installed:
Z1 Diff bushing kit + the installation tool
Z1 Rear sub frame inserts
Z1 Diff brace
This is to get rid of the bouncy feeling in the drivetrain. And get rid of the disconnected feeling between the gas pedal and the tarmac.
These will all go in once the sun stops being so mean.

My plans are to give the car everything it deserves. To max out its overall performance. To make it lighter, and quicker, snappier, grippier. Without loosing any of its charm.

Currently trying to decide between KW V3, Ohlins, or Aragosta coilovers. Leaning Ohlins. They are supposed to be out by year end.

Trying to nail down the perfect offset to put the widest rubber I can fit without a crazy poke. Also trying to figure out if the RZ34 would like a square setup as much as the Z34 did. Currently leaning toward Advan GT Beyond.

I already own Ecutek but am waiting until I decide on which exhaust I want to go with. Trying to find exotic without drone. Hard to do without being in person.

Trans mount will happen for sure and if that's not enough then I will do motor mounts as well

Sways will come at the same time as exhaust and go in when its time to do the Diff bushing and brace because it all has to come off to get the rear end out and I'm lazy LOL. So the plan is for Downpipes, Exhaust, Sway bars, to all go in at the same time when the diff is dealt with.

Ceramic window tint just went on today. Went with legal 70% vis on front windows and then 15% for the rest.

I can get you Ohlins sooner than the end of the year. Are you in Socal or Norcal?

I had a piece of textures ABS plastic lying around for years in my garage. I just made a template then cut 2 pieces to a close enough shape, clamped them together so they will be exactly symmetrical and finish sanded to exact shape on a bench top belt sander. The Z has convenient OEM mounting screws right in the perfect spot so I just used the original screws to mount them.

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum and wanted to express my gratitude to those who keep this up and running.
I do not YET have a Z, but I am seriously considering it. I am also on the competitions forum, however not necessarily there for purchase preparation. Anyway, I am here to browse through the forum and learn as much as I can.

What's up everyone, I've been surfing these forums for a while on/off but I just purchased a 2024 Z and decided I may as well login.

Traded in my 2011 GTI of almost 15 years, and picked up a Used 2024 Performance Z (Blue, Manual) with just over 3000 miles at 47k.

The car looks great, and the price was right. I just need to get better in 1st gear....

Welcome! Sounds like you got a good deal for a low-mile manual Blue Performance. I got almost 3k mi on my 24' Performance now and will have a lot more in the coming months :D

Congrats!
