Agree with your statement other than the bit i highlighted .. here in Aus its not a "Bargain Price " !!!

STD Z is circa AUD $80K.... there are MANY other cheaper options here that absolutely trounce a STD Z in performance!!
Respectfully, that sounds like an Australia problem, not a Z problem. I paid $37k +TTL for my brand new Z. It is unmatched in that price range.

If I’m going to a track, I bring a car prepared for the track. I do not bring a street car that is set up as a sport/tourer. I certainly would at the very least wait for a warm, dry day and make sure my pressures are correct so as to give the S007s an opportunity to hook up. This video is pretty worthless in my opinion.

Rubbish .... There have been plenty of bone stock cars put around that track that have performed admirably.
The STD Z just wasnt one of them..

Any person that I know that has driven the Sport/Performance Z on the street has very much enjoyed it and that is where it competes. This is a car for real people who enjoy daily driving. Not a Max Verstappen wanna be.

I like Misha’s videos, but even as a Z owner he’s spot on, these Z’s do need a lot of cooling and better brakes, Mine’s a daily driver but my friend just bought one for the track And he wasn’t comfortable with high oil temps.

I am curious though, how much did they butcher the Z so it could be imported to the EU?

either way my take away from this video is that Misha wants another Go with a tuned Z, We all know stock this car is a GT through and through and I love it either way.

In my mind, a manufacturer's choice in tire can be somewhat arbitrary (or sometimes just baffling); I appreciate the owner bringing an honest, bone stock example to drive, but things like brake pads and tires don't fundamentally change how a car behaves in stock form

There are cases where I think it's utterly pointless to do a lap on factory pads/tires. We're talking about a lap around the 'ring not a 2 min lap around a typical track.

This wasn't even a Nismo, so this is a case where it would have been perfectly reasonable to throw on something better than the s007 as a "stock" comparison.D oesn't have to be super 200tw , just anything more performant. It would have been much more fair to the car

Hope Misha will get to drive a Nismo or a tracked prepped one

I will take your word on that. In my opinion if how a stock Z handles the Ring is a top criteria maybe you should get one of those other cars that handles it better.
LOL. No kidding. There are a heck of a lot things to consider in getting a car than how it handles the Ring, no matter the price. I’m sure my Lexus wouldn’t handle it too well, either, but it isn’t anything I’m interested in doing with it.

And... That's fair enough ............. BUT! Nissan markets the STD Z (Performance) as a "High-performance SPORTS car" .... thus, you would assume it would be reasonably capable around a track such as the ring.

Now, this I agree with. Nissan should have continued to call the mid-trim the ā€œTouringā€, rather than the misnomer of ā€œPerformanceā€. I got roasted for saying it a while back, but the Performance trim only makes sense if you’re dead set on the simulated suede and Bose. If you really care about ā€œperformanceā€, the Sport is the better buy, since all of the Performance bits (with the exception of maybe the LSD) are gonna end up getting replaced anyways.

A little off topic, so apologies.

Just to emphasize just how skilled a driver Misha is check this out from a few hours ago.

At just on 200kmh in an Audi RS4... Coolant pump ruptured and sprayed coolant onto rear tires ....... car goes sideways and in a split second he reacts and does an unbelievable save!!
