Draining and replacing AT fluid is never a bad thing, but in case anyone out there doesn't know, doing this for an AT is different than an oil change. It's typical to only get 30%-40% of the AT fluid out draining the normal way. Vacuum/pressure can get more, but I think you're still talking 50%. During a full "AT Service" (flush) they use software to actuate the valve body to purge the fluid. My wife's Enclave is due, so I'm researching this to determine if I can/should do it myself. From what I've read, you really only need a full flush if it's having issues and/or you find bad looking stuff in the pan or on the magnet. Not sure about Nissan, but OEM AT fluid for her Enclave is freakin' $50 per quart. From what I'm reading (people who have worked at shops/dealerships) it's not uncommon to talk you into a full flush ($$$) and only do a drain and fill.

What didn't fit well? Could you use a clamp or coupler to ensure leak-free operation? I've been using HF pumps for years without issue.
The tip of the fill nipple for the pump only got about 1/8" into the Z1 fill adapter. I was almost 100% sure it would come out and pour A/T fluid everywhere, so I didn't try. The Z1 video didn't specify what adapter they used on their fancy fluid pump that used shop air.

Can you remove the plastic tip and just use the hose?

No dice. Looks like I'll need an adapter of some sort, or likely a different pump.

Remove or cut off the black plastic tip and slip the clear tube over the red tool.

That red piece is for a quick disconnect fitting, like for an airline, that's why Z1 calls it a "QD" fitting. You need to pull out the black plastic piece(the black plastic piece is ok for filling side fill applications like a manual trans or rear diff) and attach a female quick disconnect fitting to the clear hose. I'm actually really surprised Z1 didn't include this in the kit, they probably assume everyone has them laying around for their air compressors or something. You could take the red piece and clear tube down to the hardware store and ask/ find one that fits(there's a few different types). You could also call Z1 maybe they will give/ sell you a proper sized QD female fitting.
