Just also logging in to see an update from everyone. I also gave up and ended up getting something else (which I've now had for almost 6 months).

Glad to see everyone else finding happiness elsewhere. lol.
Hi long time between check ins.
What did you end up getting, it’s been interesting to see what path we all took

Well I’m not prepare to pay scalpers another 10k …not buying into the US mentality ….and I think 2 years is patience enough
I am actually really happy with my choice now. At first I was a little unsure if I’d done the right thing, every time I drive the Z4 I know I have … but as I said, I have no interest in tracking or modding
Just wanted a fun car, that’s pretty to look at, drives well and has the mod cons.
Then in that case you made a good decision.

This platform, majority of people would modify this car to the fullest they can.

Actually a lot of people on here do not want to do that….the survey that asked if people would track it was around 10% ….and mods around 50% intended to leave as stock except for the wheels.

If I had waited, I would have ended up purchasing new wheels, new muffler (coz the sound is crap) and new stereo unit with speakers and camera …because the camera is like my mums 2018 Hyundai I20, and the stereo is very average
And I think realistically this is the bare minimum that would need to be done to keep the car fun and still suitable for an everyday drive, in my opinion

This is why I was asking those modding realistically how much would they spend before they are happy, and the reason for doing so is because once you hit 95k you are very close to a number of other cars that would need 0 work
Don’t get me wrong I’m fully aware that there are people out there who really enjoy the process, and in that case it’s a good option …just not me

I ended up getting a jaguar f type v6s roadster.

My budget increased given we all waited so long.

I have no regrets whatsoever lol.
Nor should you..fabulous choice.
I was looking at the Jag F Types….unfortunately they won’t fit in my garage because they are deceptively long
Beautiful car that will hold its value extremely well…congrats

Been there ….

Then again it creates such tension when it finally turns up, like an ex when you are happily married 😂

Hi GeelongCats. Just wondering if you have had any interest in your Z? Like several others here I have gone and bought something else while waiting - but still have the Z coming - supposedly in the next month or two. I was thinking of getting the Z, putting both my cars up for sale, and then keeping the one that doesn't sell. However - like others, I am concerned that people are losing interest in the Z now. Might be better to cancel. Are you getting buyer interest - or just tyre kickers?

That’s exactly what I did too, both supra and Z on sale and plenty of interest just not the right type. I really can’t say much about other variables…We’ll just wait and see how things go.

Yes, I love the process. I enjoy seeing cars who beat higher end cars in races. Like seeing a civic beat a Porsche. It’s the process for me

Just got back from Fulcrum/Whiteline.
Was told they will have the Z parts online hopefully at the end of next week.

This time they changed the rear bushings to a new neoprene compound they are working with (previously I'd only done the front bushings when they installed the front sway bar). They commented that the rear is under a significant amount of load, and wnated to try this new material.

I was sceptical, but happy to give it a go. Gotta say, on the ~20km return trip home I found it to be quite a noticeable difference. In a good way.

Doing the coilovers drastically improved the overall compliance of the car, but I still felt a little like the back end was being dragged around by the front. The front was so eager to turn in now that the back lagged a little... unless you put your foot down.. then all the steering was done by the rear :D

On the way home I didn't get any of that at all - it was a much better balance between front and back. I used to have a 4WS prelude in the late 90's, and this felt a little like that.
Still happily let the back go with a bit of gas, but it was smmooooooth. Not jumpy like it was.

Will need a few more days to test it and play with the coilover settings, but so far so good. 👍

Spoke to my dealer today to see if my Dec 22 (Wk1) built car is on the boat yet. No update from Nissan yet so maybe June/July now.
I did ask about the news that i'd heard about some people being told 2024 for their deliveries. He told me that he'd contacted two Z customers and informed them of the news. Both had as a result gone ahead and cancelled their orders for their non-proto cars. He did say no reason was given by Nissan as to why the date change, but also mentioned that his dealership has not received many other Nissan car models. Dribs and drabs he said and that of the models received were mostly high spec cars and not base models. I think he's frustrated by it all too and my regular calls. Hopefully June for me.
