Gotcha. Thanks! I've read the JATCO is a Benz gearbox but altered by the Japanese.

I've just found some videos Z night time reviews.

The high beams aren't Adaptive? Nothing like Matrix Audi or the equiv and amazingly awesome Mercedes-Benz system I have now.

wait you cannot do it online?

what third world hell do you live in?
The kingdom of Western Australia. I ordered and paid online but you have to take old plates in to swap for new plates once they’re made.

Not sure exactly what "adaptive headlights" mean, the fixture and bulbs are fixed from that perspective.
When you go into a tunnel or it's nighttime - it'll auto-set (assuming the switch is set to auto) the headlights / Taillights.

Old school Adaptive HID bulbs moved with the steering when I had my Skoda Octavia vRS which were epic and auto-high beam assist.

Adaptive is partially spot on with your answer where it's auto.

This is the tech I'm talking about which I currently have and it is awesome. 1min onwards.

Dec19=you've gotta be somewhere near the top of the list! It sounds like mine still hasn't left Japan so I'm not expecting it before July.
Ill go pay the dealer a visit Wednesday to see if they have an update...

so really old tech my 93 bluebird had side spot lights and when you would indicate and had lights on it would turn on the side spot light so you could see around the corner better.
was great and novel.

Wifes '18 Imprezza has the headlights the turn as you stear as well.
being we live in country it's easy to see how it work and is a good thing.

you then get the MB/Audi ones that will also detect other cars anddim the LED's that jsut point at that car so rest of high beam is still on.
that is such a shitful thing that never works right and ends up blinding eveyone.

I would love to see the new Audi Laser lighting however.

and no the Z has none of the above ;)

And honestly as I am planning long term ownership that's good as one less thing to break. a bit of the tech for the sake of tech is runing some cars.Moving EVERYTHING to the touch screen and then having motion sensor that never work right (or worse voice control)

I want a volume knob and my climate control to not be in there.

I don't want to ahve to go though 3 menues to turn from fresh air to recirc as I am coming up behind a cattle truck (which being regional is a common thing)

The wait for my new plates is almost (we’ll not really) as bad as the wait for the car. This is the queue at the licensing centre to just get into the ticketed queue inside the centre!

What color and transmission did you go for.
I rang Essendon Nissan a few weeks back regarding a demo and was offered a yellow, black or gray manual, even though i have never dealt with this dealer. My order is with Sydney dealer.
I do not understand how they can do this.
I was waiting on a yellow..two years, didn’t get one …yet here they are offering the same colour to someone who didn’t even order it.
I’m sure there are enough orders in the system to fill allocations…particularly yellow as it was one of the most popular colours as we determined by the pie chart..along with blue
I said it before I’ll say it again…some of the dealers out there are doing dodgy shit and Nissan Aus seems to just be ignoring it

Got excited when I got a call this morning from dealer, but sadly it wasn't about the spec I ordered, they offered me a manual Proto, I said no thanks.

That's pretty interesting. Manual proto was the most popular pre-order and they're offering it to you who didn't even order a proto ? I thought they would all be long gone.

It's also what my pre-order was (from the same dealer) and I've ended up with an Auto...though TBH after living with it for a few months I think I actually prefer having the Auto and wouldn't change it even if I could.

The Z doesn't even have auto sensing wipers or auto folding mirrors both of which my 10 year old Fiesta has, let alone adaptive headlights.

The headlights in the Z are still decent though and look good being LED. They do auto-dim for oncoming traffic which is as adaptive as they are.

My Tiguan has Matrix LED (or whatever the VW equivalent is) and it's pretty awesome how they can light up one lane only if there's someone else in another lane on the motorway. The Merc lighting tech is on another level.

That's what I thought, surely all the protos would be gone by now.
At least this dealer does call and offer some alternatives which is good

I do have a question for any Z owners both in this thread from Australia or abroad the have the Auto... can you feel the gears changing... as in does it jerk just a little bit or is it just smooth on the upshift? The downshift? I've just watched a couple in-car video reviews and it just seems smooth and no real push/pull in the camera footage... it is a M-Benz gearbox? If so, which model again? I will do the google.
In standard mode the gearbox is very smooth, you don't really notice the shifts up or down, with power delivery very linear when driving normally. Having 9 cogs helps this I imagine.

In Sport mode you notice the shifting more, and as suggested it's a bit more harsh on down shifts at lower speeds.

I think most reviewers have spent more time in Sport mode, which is the reason for any negative comments about the Auto.
