One of them's a proto so surely that wouldn't be a press car.
They will be Proto and dealer demos…much to my annoyance.
I’m still peeved that they are getting demos over filling customer orders, but I suppose at least it’s a step in the right direction.

Now I’m watching closely to see how they allocate coupes. For instance if my dealer gets allocated a red, but not yellow…they better still be offering it to the first order on the system. I’d be happy with most (not all) colours

nissan AU will take that use as a press car then put in their collection.
That’s what most of them do.

I’m doubting demos. Else they would be on trucks with their xtrails and navaras

add in headed towards nissan HQ.

Hope your right…but it’s not what the intel says, and this truck could be heading to dealers, how do we know🤷‍♀️

It does not make sense for a dedicated truck for demos.

plus if going to dealer people would be being called to do them.

eg I have a clause of a happy test drive in my contract.

being 6’2 and a bit too girthy I don’t fit in many cars.

that said my dealer prob won’t be getting a demo and I will be heading to melb to do it in due course.
Regional dealer so they will only sell a few compared to 100s of navaras.

Disclaimer I’m not saying impossible and def not discounting your concerns.

But just going with a odds on approach.

and if I was in your scenario and they did demos b4 customer cars I would be pissed.

We've known for months now that dealerships here ain't getting allocations like they are in the US.

I agree unlikely…but.
The yellow is a proto, so the yellow won’t be for demo…that along with one of the others that will be heading to a dealer could be a demo. If three dealers are in the metro area there is the possibility that a truck could visit three, it’s not a huge number.

As I said, like you I think it’s unlikely, but if they are for buyers why have none of the coupe people been contacted as yet?

Hopefully the halt on new orders will skew deliveries back to customers.

I think you're right, it looks like it might just be domestic sales in Japan. Hopes dashed 😅

Whilst they haven’t officially halted new orders…they do state

JOIN THE QUEUE

“Join the Queue
Interest globally for the all-new Nissan Z has been overwhelming resulting in Nissan receiving enough reservations to meet our production capacity for 2022. If you wish to join the queue for any future production availability please complete the form below and your local Nissan Dealer will be in touch. Please note that Z Proto is fully sold out with no more to come.”

Meaning no new orders will be delivered this year …..so still telling people you can order but you ain’t getting one, another reason why demos are a mystery in my opinion

I'm sort of glad they have Demos. Give's customers a chance to test drive.
Who knows, some people may pull out after the test drive.

Suppose everyone is different…I think a happy medium would be to allow maybe two demos per state for people to have a try ….and restrict it to those who have orders in initially so that if people do drop out their order is redistributed quickly

I can understand dealerships wanting demonstration vehicles but it just hurts because we placed our orders/reservations long before they did. It feels a bit like they're jumping the queue.

Quietly hoping that a few retail Coupes arrive alongside these Proto/demos.
