its amazing the number of carry over parts from the 370z, the gauge clusters look the same size, door barrels same, heated seat switches same, electric seat controls same, bose speaker grills look very close to the same, door switch gear same. The 370z had a roller blind cargo cover nothing mentioned on this model.
None the less it still looks good even with small screen

I don’t mind the carry over parts as I’ve never experienced a Nissan car before except a rental X-Trail or simple cars…

One thing that does bother me is that I went from VW to Skoda which was a great choice to then wanting to update the Skoda to a new model but the parts bin are shared across VW, Skoda and Audi… I even checked Audi and it put me off.

I would like a blind cargo cover like the Supra has for safety, I tend to carry photo equipment with me so… will see how good the space is behind the seats in the new Z!

I’m getting excited, the screen size might be OK

What’s really interesting to me in all of this is the timing. Traditionally Aus has been the last market that they service.
At present it looks like they are doing media contact at the same time as the US.
If pricing is coming some time in the next week as reported, that will also be ahead of the US
With our “pre orders” in, I’m now stating to honestly believe that they will fill those orders before the US as well.

than would create a real stir ?

I can't understand the decision on the 8" screen either. It is going to be tiny compared to my Tesla's screen.

On a separate note, what does every think is a reasonable amount for dealer delivery/car wash fee? I am preparing myself so I am ready to decide if I will proceed with the purchase once pricing is announced. Having read about the crazy markup some dealers are putting on the Corvette by charging an exorbitant amount of dealer delivery fee, I hope the same doesn't happen with the Z. Having said that, I think there is a lot more demand for a much lesser number of cars with the Corvette, so it probably won't happen with the Z.

Why on earth aren't dealers starting to touch base with contract holders if this is all happening? I'm not on some damn reservation list, I've got a bloody paper contract in place and am sick of hearing about things through means other than my goddamn dealer.

Is it too much to expect these muppets to use that damn mailing list they have in place to send something of note instead of the same goddamn brochure time and time again?! Tell me that pricing is due out next week. Tell me that I can expect to take collection in 8 weeks or what have you. I don't want to be coming to a forum for my updates, I want them from the people that have my cash in their bank.

Come the conclusion of the embargo some damn emails had better be getting sent off. I'll be fucked if I'm chasing up these guys ready to hurl wads of doe at them for the lack of service I feel I've received.

i don’t understand?
Nissan Aus sets the prices and that’s what it is.
Dealers are not permitted to mark up cars in Australia
So whatever Nissan announces, along with on road costs ( because they do vary state to state) it will be
We are lucky to not be like the US in this way

I think 75K on road would be a fair price …but who knows if it will be that

Dealers can charge as they wish for dealer delivery fees... so when you haggle/negotiate... that's what you negotiate on!

Agree, but don’t think it’s the dealers fault to be fair. They haven’t really been told a lot from Nissan Aus, the press seems to know more than they do, and even the information they are given they don’t want to hand out freely because there has been so many changes they are scared of being crucified and losing sales.

This is however Nissan Aus fault. As you said, they have our details, they can contact us, and as we have put our money where our mouths are, perhaps at the very least they could update us with the same info they are giving to the press ..hopefully not long till we do know more, but it is certainly frustrating.

How do you think I feel…my deposite has been in for over a year now ??‍♀

No they can not ..not in Aus
Dealer deliver is set by the manufacturer that why we don’t see cars being sold 20k over like the US…I mean Nissan Aus could decide to charge 20k over recommended retail for dealer delivery but it will be the same everywhere
Its against the law to charge over retail price in Aus , same as Canada

You can haggle below the recommended retail price, you can haggle over trade ins, but they can’t haggle above the recommended price

I just edited my post….so it could be possible for Nissan Aus to set the dealer delivery really high but that would be across the board, not just a particular dealership…like we saw with the Corvettes

at least that’s what I was told…and hope is right

Unless they want a huge overstock of Zs…I don’t think that will happen …but as the old saying goes.
Never say Never

Once pricing is finalised it would be good if we could get in contact with our dealers and ask directly what it will be on road and share…then we will know for sure

One point on this….this is why when you go on a dealership page in Australia to see how much a are will cost they will give you a drive away price ( because it’s supposed to be across the board) they will add so,etching like

”Price is the Recommended Delivered Price (RDP) based on a private buyer living in Perth (postcode 6000) and includes 12 months registration, 12 months compulsory third party insurance, stamp duty, other applicable statutory charges, dealer delivery and administration charges. Final pricing may vary according to your personal circumstances. Not available in conjunction with any other offer. Mazda reserves the right to change or amend the offer at any time. “

So this would be for WA, it’s from the Mazda sight RDP is set by themanufacturer, up to dealer if they want to take less of a dealer delivery though than what the manufacturer sets

Who knows what they've been told by nissan Australia.

Considering the dealers have customers in place with money down, dealerships should be making it their concern to keep said customers apprised of what it is they're selling to them. Chase nissan aus up if the info isn't forthcoming, but don't let the press do your damn job for you.
