The FM chassis is effectively "ancient".

......

Long ago, I owned the previous Zs and realized what Nissan was doing: focusing on style and grand touring. The Z32 tried to be a little better than simply being a GT, but it only got half way there. So, to me as an old school Z enthusiast, the new Z is actually what I'm looking for. It's right on point for Nissan.

My point being, throwing upgraded parts at the Z still won't put it above it's peers, closer, yes. Fun, heck yeah.
Right on about the Z's evolution, and you're halfway there, plus the wife approves, so .......

As far as, upgrading Z's for max performance, it's been done over and over competitively, just look at Nissan Challenge series we have here, maybe others in your areas.

In going to guess he was flogging it in sport+ mode. The traction control in that mode is so loose I've come unstuck a few times.

Putting some Bridgestone Potenza sports on
, hopefully they're better than the Dunlop's.

Twice I've planted it about 70km/h and the rear just kicks

I hope this wasn't the dreaded 370z abs error/"Ice mode" that killed the Amuse 370z on best motoring and many other 370z's. I had hoped they finally fixed it on the new Z..

I wonder if driving an automatic would have given them both better handling by keeping both hands on the wheel...

Doesn't matter what type of car or horsepower, it's almost always Driver Error! Speed, road conditions, weather, etc. you can overdrive any car. The Z is no better, but worse with 400hp and slippery S007s, even the Nismo Dunlops are summer tires with soft compounds, not great in any wet conditions. People will keep crashing on streets and coming out of C&C all the time.
I agree! I have discarded the S007s and replaced it with two different sets of tires: one set of Yokohama AD09s and one set of Continental SC7s.

Similar thoughts here. I love the Z but I appreciate it for what it is.
