It's a beautiful color, and it's shows off the lines of the Z very well. Literally the only thing that would suck about getting this color would be the comments from the older crowd along the lines of "Hahahahah, did they forget to paint it? Hhahahahahaefineofigwrg'wanfwejf" - as they walk away in their knee-high socks and Sketchers.

My concern about it is whether swirl marks will be more visible on this colour, as it is a darkish flat/non-metaliic colour.

I thought it was flat as well. However, checked out a Boulder Gray Frontier at NYIAS and it seems to have some metallic flake. I have no clue if there is any difference between the implementation of the color on other Nissan models vs. Z. But if not, then Z should have the same metallic flake.

If the japanese color description is anything to go by, it should have some pearlescent effect on it (which I think is known now with comments about it being the exact same as the "boulder gray pearl" color code on other nissan models). Not sure why they dropped the "pearl" from the name though.

The car or the pic of the car?
The photo, look up some Rogue photos in BG, very few owner shots look this blue (some dealer and media shots do, likely to make the car more appealing). It is possible that the photo here is accurate for this instance as in bluish light BG does sometimes seem to take on a blue tint to some degree; looking more closely at the surrounding whites in the photo, they do look well balanced.

I can think of one possible reason, "pearl" is not a word they want associated with the Z, too feminine for a sports car.
