Has anyone added a Borla s-type Cat-back exhaust system to their Z.

I had one on for a week. The drone between 2-3k RPM's was simply too much for me. I had the stock put back on and returned it. (They did offer to send another but I was already out 1k in labor at that point.) The frustrating part was it's advertised as no drone.

Jimmy, appreciate your response and hope this will not be my experience. Had this system on my Corvette for many years and was pleased. Will post pictures and sound clips once received and installed.

I have installed the Borla S-Type and must say I love the additional sound and quality of product. I have taken the car out for three long drive under various conditions and have no drone at any speed in inside the vehicle. wonderful sound when you start up and at any time you hit the accelerator. So, if you are looking for some enhanced attitude this system is worth your consideration.

Thanks for posting your experience with the Borla S-Type. Glad to hear your getting no drone. If I decide to change out my Z's exhaust, the Borla S will probably be the one. I'll have to say, though, I haven't been all that displeased with the stock exhaust. It sounded OK to me during a 500 mile road trip and, so far, about town. Not too long ago I had a Fiat 124 and changed out the exhaust for a Goodwin Racing one and was glad I did. It made the car sound like a mini Lamborghini. ;)

Can’t go wrong with Borla, they got great reputation and been in business for sometime now. The exhaust is pricey, curious to see your results.

Agree. From listening to various exhaust setups online, which isn't perfect but at least it gives you some ideas, the Borla S sounds best to my ears. If Goodwin Racing made something for the Z like I had on the Fiat, I'd go with it. I loved that sound and I got a lot of positive comments on it. I remember taking it in for routine maintenance and the lady who was arranging my service remarked that she had never heard a 124 sound so good. She wanted all the details for when she got her car.

I've got plenty of time to consider, though. If I do it, it won't be until the end of this year.

I installed the Borla ATAK. if you access to a lift, it's a fairly cut and dry install. Took about 30 minutes to remove factory exhaust. Installation of the Borla took about an hour, just me not wanting to mess anything up. Definitely has a sweet rumble on start up, sounds great running through the gears. Really haven't noticed a drone, I like to play tunes at louder volumes.
