Borla-Attak v S-Type

Does anybody have a real world comparison between the Borka attak versus the Borla S type?

The Borla YouTube video they sound very similar. What I’m hearing is that the attack is more track sounding? Is it too loud?

I’m finding that all the turbo cars generally are not that loud anyways unless you are running FDP and straight pipe back.

Not like you’re driving down the street and hear a Mustang get above 2000 RPMs and you can hear him a mile away

I have a feeling the ATAK may fall into the Mile Away Club, but don’t know that for sure. The ATAK has no muffler(s) and is specifically designed to be louder. Like a ’track’ setup, where the S-Type would be the ‘touring,’ with muffler.
Hard to gauge in-person sound from sound clips, but the Borla sounds better than most I’ve heard.

Agreed. I haven't heard an ATAK on a Z, but the cars I have were a bit excessive for my taste while others love it.

I researched it a little a while back. Supposedly there’s a lot of fancy engineering to kill drone completely while trying to get as low and mellow as they could go with the exhaust note. How good is it, idk. Maybe it’s my old ears, but a lot of exhausts sound practically the same online. This one and AWE have a unique sound, imo. I think the tip design is pretty cool too.

Design looks clean but cannot find any info on performance / dyno results.

marketing seems focused on sound quality.

I installed the ATAK on my 23 Performance. It has a noticeably more throaty sound as compared to stock at idle. Higher RPM's in lower gears, you get a slight drone, but IMO not annoying. 6th gear is really not noticeable drone wise. Windows down, I like the growl it gives off going through the gears. I have upgraded the sound system so I have sound deadening material in the trunk and doors so it does cut down on the exhaust note slightly. The system utilizes what they call a polyphonic exhaust harmonizer to give it the distinct sound for Borla.
