I refuse to take my Z out in the winter unless the roads are clear of salt. Even then with summer tires it's a once in a while thing. I've seen people say "oh I'll just wash the car" then drive on salty roads. Pretty sure salt+water=corrosion.

I guess it depends where you live. In Edmonton, Alberta, Canada it wouldn’t matter what tires you put on your Z, it wouldn’t be going anywhere. I drive my Xterra in the Winter.

Took my Z out this morning, hit ice, and did a complete 180 and smacked a curb. Minor tire sidewall damage. Going to wash the car and check for more damage later. Most of the ice has melted, but not all of it.
Not even going to try taking my Z out. It might do fine on the highways, but surface streets still have a lot of ice
So much for not taking it out 🤣

What tires do you have on?

My wife daily drives hers. Not during the foot of snow day- but she’s back to commuting her 80 mile trek in her 6 speed. Tires are oem and they slip and slide in the summer, so same same in winter.
My heritage is fair weather weekend only but with mods overpowers traction on the best of days. Need wider rims - maybe in the spring I’ll get the Nismo rs in graphite.
I have my company INFINITI to drive on the daily.

no way here in Southern Ontario. The cold is no problem. Will drive great at below freezing but snow is zero traction

Luckily this is the only damage. Should be able to get it refinished. Got a wheel and tire warranty when I bought the car, that should be able to cover it. If not, I can take it to a refinishing shop.

Whew! Close one! Glad you aren't on the Wreck registry thread. Be safe my man! Glad you and the Z are good.

"Wash the car" 🤣
That slushy salt gets into all the nooks and crannies of a vehicle, good luck washing it out. They just gave their vehicle cancer....
