I saw someone is already making them but I want to give it a shot as well with a filament that is more specific for that kind of application.

I can definitely work on that too!
If you did, and it looked good, I'd be one of your first customers in line.

I'm curious about the strut tower hardware covers for the 370 (they may fit the new Z, not sure if anyone's tried, idk). They appear to have tabs to hold them in but it doesn't look like there are slots or anything formed on the strut bar for them to click into. At a glance it looks like they'd pop out over time.

Didn't design anything, but printed a few things for my 350, like a modified center console insert (under the armrest). There's nothing out there for the new Z, at least in the places I typically look.

BTW, in case anyone's irked by this thread, I'm not trying to turn this into a business/sales opportunity. I don't have the time nor the printer for to get into that crap.

The 370z and Z strut towers are exchangeable. The 370z one is cheap upgrade for the Z (looks better IMO) . Although you need some cowl trimming or try to fit the 370z cowl.

The big metal parts underneath all the other parts circled below.
if you gut the entire front ends of both a Z and a 370Z and carefully torch them out of both cars, they’re 100% interchangeable.

That's what I believe strut towers are also, I wanted @Midz10 to elaborate.
Because he stated

I don't think is would be cheap or why you would do this. Also I'd question the 100% interchangeable.

I think he means "strut tower brace" and having compared the hardware on these side by side I believe they are different (thus me doubting being able to swap entire towers)

yeah ok,
not trying to be a prick but that's a strut tower brace.

And I'm pretty sure not interchangeable
Its. Z1 sell the same one for both the 370z and Z.

Thanks for sharing. This part fitting both models, doesn't necessarily confirm the OEM parts are interchangeable. But it I concede it would be highly likely.

I compared the 370 and Z side by side, and I was of the opinion the bars were not interchangeable. The shape of the mounting holes on the tower looked different to me.

It would make sense that the towers and thus mounting hardware are the same as @FSUZ33 said.

Thanks for clearing this up

My apologies @Midz10 and @FSUZ33

Looking at my pics again the mounting look very similar and are likely the same.

Thinking harder about it now, I think I was originally asked to see if the 3d printed covers for these holes on a 370 would fit the new Z. Which they obviously wont.
found it -> https://www.nissanzclub.com/forum/threads/found-this.3388/#post-81665
And coincidently brings us back to this 3d printing thread.

Again sorry for the argument

I was joking about cutting the strut towers out of a car, but I guess it could be done.

Was going to design and print covers for those spots on my Z but my printer died, and I dont feel like replacing it.

The front strut tower hardware locations and mounting are identical between the Z and 370Z, but I agree that the pockets in the two appear different. That 3-point 370Z brace does fit on a Z with a little tweaking to the cowl (not sure what that involves). I believe @traska_rz34 did it, but has taken it off or replaced it since then.

Yep, it had so little clearance in the engine bay that it was making contact in two places and creating a knock sound constantly. I’ve since replaced it with the Blitz strut brace and it’s much better.
