Got a report back from Blackstone labs on my 2024. I did oil changes at 1200 and 5000. This is the 5000 report, so there was 3800 on the oil. I used Motul 8100 0W20 Eco-Lite.

Everything looks good, thought I would share it here.

12/2/25 Update:
I've attached the 10K analysis.

Oil was Motul 8100 0W20. I switched to Motul 5W30 when I changed the oil.
Things are still flushing out, even with the 2 previous oil changes. Oil was still good and could have been run longer. Don't plan to do that, just good to know Motul holds up, which I had no doubt of.

What did the metals look like on the 1200 sample?

looks like the engine break-in wear is significant past the 1200 mile mark. I just changed mine at 1k. I was planing to run to normal service intervals from here out. But now I’m going earlier on the next change after seeing these numbers.

How much does this cost? i may get in on this for my next change.

I didn't take a sample at 1200, just changed the oil and filter. I'll take another sample at 10k and probably no more after that unless I think something is up.
A report costs $40: https://www.blackstone-labs.com/products/

I plan to do an oil change every 5k, from what I've read, 10k is pushing it.

From what I can tell based on my UOA's from blackstone (two so far) the metals are still high after two oil changes. I do have a third sample I need to send off. Now, I'm not an expert at reading the UOA's so how high those numbers are vs the significance of those numbers of the overall oil I don't know.

They did go down quite a bit between sample 1 and 2 though they were still high on sample two. Just goes to show I guess how break in metals can linger. Again, idk how significant that is, but the thought of waiting 10,000 miles for an oil change after seeing those numbers seems like a higher interval than I'd like it to be, at least for cleaning break in metals, etc out.

At what mileages did you take samples?

I was using Blackstone for many years. After having a conversation with one of their lab techs about my oil sample I decided to use another lab. The tech I spoke with didn't have an answer for anything I ask. The only response was, it depends, all engines are different. I thought the point of sending in a sample was to analyze how "my" engine/oil performs in reference to how I drive and where I live. Plus the fact the oil I had been using (M1 0-30 AFE) sheared to the lowest spec for 20wt oil and would show worse if it ran a little longer. Their BS rubber stamp statement actually suggested I extend the OCI effectively knowing the oil would completely shear out and below a 20wt oil. No thank you. My next oil sample will be with SPEEDiagnostix .

Post it here when you get it, I'm curious to see what it looks like.
