A bit more flake. It's a tri-coat paint

Seems if midnight purple is true its JDM only(maybe Australia as they get same spec)

Really? Over half the colors are still 2T. Killing it slowly.

Also, I've been meaning to ask you owners of Black Diamond: What does the transition look like from the bumper to the diffuser? Does it go from flake to flat, or is it diamond all the way?

My car has red interior from factory. Did my car just become more rare?
Yellow on red is pretty rare. Rarer still is yellow on blue. While shopping for mine, I found three cars in that combination. Almost bought one, but I couldn't justify the price difference, and if I were to ever change the seats, that's half the money gone.

It’s not diamond, just plain black. I had to go out to the garage and look, as I had never noticed before.

Glad I saw this thread. I've been wanting a red Z to replace my Nogaro Red 350Z I sold during covid. Was never a huge fan of Passion Red although I thought it looked OK on the 370Z. All the Solid Red 370s are ~10 years old now. Thought the metallic red looked awkward on the new Z and production numbers were low anyways with the temporary halt.

Was in the market to buy a black PMT with the option to wrap it gloss red later on. Seems like there are a LOT of these sitting on dealer lots. I guess I'll wait to see how this 2025 red looks before deciding.

Thanks for the info @MCN1SMO. With 2025, we may have entered the "middle" stage of RZ34, depending how long Nissan will build it. Next changes would probably be a refresh.

It seems like they axed all initial colors that ever got official press car or press photo coverage (Ikazuchi Yellow, Passion Red, Seiran Blue, Boulder Gray). And with the GT-R going away, they've now given the Z some of those paint colors (Bayside Blue & Brilliant White Pearl). But no black roof with Bayside Blue? It might look odd or out of place in my opinion.

I'd hope to see a metallic green paint or purple paint in the next wave of changes.

Thanks for clearing it up. I'd wondered about this for awhile. I guess it's not a jarring transition if you'd never noticed before.

In the US dealers have already received production dates for November builds with those arriving early next year. Burgandy ( Rosewood) seems to be available in Japan for 2025 but in the US it is not currently an option for the initial allocations some dealers are already receiving.

Speculation of 2025 being the final year is due in part to not sales but noise regulations in Japan that will limit cars to being less than 71db in 2026. I followed this development closely as Nissan already had to address a less strict noise reg with the R35. In Japan Nissan had to revamp the exhaust system to comply with regulations in order to sale their 2024/25 models. There was no 2023 Japan spec GTR however nissan did produce a small run for North America. This issue will have to be addressed with the Z for it to be sold in Japan in 2026.
