As I posted earlier on another thread it was a PITA! I tried a belt wrench first it didn’t budge it. I finally used large channel locks. I followed some of the recommendations on this forum wrapping it, but I still ended up damaging it. It looks like they used some type of loctite. Be careful if...
Sadly brands dealerships are hit or miss. The BMW dealership that I patronized provided outstanding amenities. The Audi and Volvo dealerships amenities were just OK. I’m actually more concerned about the competence of the service department than if they have fresh donuts and coffee. I’ve taken...
I just completed my shift knob replacement's it was a PITA. It does look like they used some type of loctite. I tried a belt wrench it didn’t budge it eventually I had to just use large channel locks. Even with OEM shifter covered up I damaged it. I used the bottom part of the OEM shifter and...
23 Performance manual approximately 14000 miles. It was preowned it had about 9000 miles on it when purchased. So far no real issues did replace stock tires and get oil changes every 3K.
Anyone can see it’s not right. What are they comparing it to? That being said I wouldn’t have modified anything until l got confirmation what they wanted me to do. In my experience most of the time even if they (most businesses) agree to replace it they want the original one back.
Right unrelated items cannot be denied because of a tune or modification. That being said I willing to bet money anything closely related will be denied at most dealerships and you will have to prove it didn’t contribute to the failure in court.
A lot of folks love to holler Magnuson-Moss, but didn’t really read the small print. True they can’t deny your warranty claim for unrelated mods. What this act was enacted to do was prevent the buyer from being forced to go to the dealer for work. An example you added aftermarket oil, air...
Getting a clear bra/PPF protection put on was one of the first things I did. In a low car like the Z I expected there were going to get a lot of stones strikes. Every time I was my car I’m glad I invested in it.
In theory you are one hundred percent correct. The actual facts are a lot of dealerships will not hesitate to claim your mods caused the issue and you will have to prove that they’re incorrect. That’s why a lot of people attempt to hide their mods as long vehicle is under warranty. Of course you...
On the flip side they would be buying a used modded car at least two years old that is almost out of warranty or none at all due to its extensive mods for the price of a new one. Z prices are dropping, on this forum alone there are numerous post of people getting 7-10K off. My completely stock Z...
Once again you can ask whatever you like for your spectacularly modded Z and hope you get it! I’ve traded cars and motorcycles with mods and you never get what you put in it. Now when the dealer sales it he definitely uses them to raise the price. I guess if you want something to track your car...
$50+K for a used 23 Performance? I purchased an used 23 with about 8K miles for $39,750. Mods hardly return any value. Hope you find someone to buy it at your asking price.
