Any regrets?

Aah, good history, must be some minor regrets gripes to share at least??

• Every Z I've ever had has had too much body roll and needs sway bars.
• My 370Z's were very noisy (road noise). The 2024 is quieter, but not by much.
• Steering wheel heater and remote start would be good for some...I don't need them since I never drive the Z in winter (Minnesota).
• Not that the 2024 is slow, but there is a noticeable performance increase when using 93 octane. For me, it's very tough to find 93 octane and I'm stuck with 91 octane.
• No real spare tire. I confess I've never had a flat on any Z I've owned, but I feel kind of vulnerable without a spare.
• IMHO, the wheels are overly vulnerable to curb rash.
• oddly shaped console cubby which impairs usefulness a bit. Looks like they were thinking of a wireless phone charger there but changed their mind at the last minute.
• Aux 12v power for dash-cam and/or radar detector would be nice. Using a mirror tap is a bit cumbersome.

Is the AT good in this car? I am thinking of a Sport AT? I had an AT 350z convertible which I hated the transmission. Test drove the 2023 manual Z last year.

This will by my 4th generations Z/ZX. I am planning to keep my 2022 Miata MT. Btw, see some familiar names from my350z.com days.

Love my 2023 Performance 6MT, although I prefer Redline with silver Rays. My biggest regret is rupturing my Achilles last summer which ended my driving for the year.

Yes, and that works fine if you want to have a cord or two hanging down from the radar detector/dashcam down to the passenger footwell. I'd prefer to plug those two things right up where they mount. Normally I use a mirror tap cord but it would be nice to actually have a power outlet. It's irritating when the passenger hits the power outlet in the footwell with their foot and unplug it.

Tried getting a Z a couple of years ago. Could not get the color or interior I wanted and refused to pay the mark-up. Bought a 2023 BMW M240i instead. Great car, fast, fantastic interior but I just wasn't GAGA on it.

Fast forward to a month ago, found a Silver Performance, black/grey interior below MSRP in the LA area. Had to go for it as the silver seems very hard to find. I took a hit on the BMW but I now have what I originally wanted and feel really good about it. So nice to be back in a manual and although the M240i was a great car it just didn't have the fun factor of the Z.

I traded in my 2017 Mustang Ecoboost for my Z. No real regrets, other than paying almost MSRP for it.

The Z has way more power and better handling, even if it's not a track monster. It's awesome to drive, on the road and when I got it on the track for a bit. It's also way more unique and draws a lot of comments.

I think my biggest complaint is that the interior trim is kinda cheap and a bit creaky. But I wasn't looking for luxury. I just think the price was a bit high for what it is.

A couple of pieces of interior carbon fibre really spruces things up. I went with the pieces around the window buttons, the piece around the gear shifter and the piece around the cup holder. I really like the extra pizzazz. Going to add the red Nismo buttons.

Thanks for all of the replies. I owned a 2007 BMW M coupe based on the Z4, loved that car. I am kicking myself for not keeping it, as is worth twice what I paid for it now. They only made 1800 of them over the 3 year production. The Z is the closest to it I have found. It would be nice if Nissan had continued with a straight 6 cylinder, but the v6 twin turbo does have decent power. I agree with several responses that for this price point, heated steering wheel and remote start should be standard. However, I only buy manual transmissions, so that feature would not be available anyway. I am just waiting on the dealership to reopen so I can negotiate trade in.

Came from the Corvette world. Almost bought a used C7 (2014-2019) Corvette but decided for the same price to get a new Z. I have always liked the Z's, never owned one and traded in my C5 Corvette for it. It's way better looking and way more fun to drive. I rarely miss the targa top though I do wish the Z had one.

Seen a few people complain about the creaks in the Z. Absolutely NOTHING compared to a plastic Corvette - trust me, those things are creak city. Going from an NA V8 to a TT V6 has been an adjustment but a welcome one. Wanted to get into something different and have always had a good history with Nissan and really like the Z.

I do not track it. It's a weekend go ripping on the outskirts of town car for me and I will drive it everywhere if the roads are fine. I drive it more than my truck overall so I guess you could say it is my daily.

Rosewood is the best color and I feel very lucky I got one. Done a few cosmetic mods like the "Fairlady Z" badging, some under-the-hood small things like K&N air filters and the Z1 under-shroud. I will be happy when these Bridgestones wear out so I can get some A/S Michelins.


Having a lot of fun with it and learning the import / JDM world has been a good ride so far.

Will be looking to get an older Corvette (C4 1984-1996) someday to tinker around with because I really like those.
